Men's lives are undergoing a remarkable evolution. Only a generation ago to become a strong man generally meant learning to avoid being tripped up or held back by what you felt. Now men are encouraged and even expected to "know themselves" and be more emotionally present in their marriages and other important relationships. The advantages of greater emotional self-awareness include: (1) greater depth of connection with your spouse, children and close male friends, (2) better access to your own emotional strengths including your stress tolerance and resilience, and (3) an enhanced sense of purpose and personal meaning.
More and more men are accepting the challenges of the new emotional landscape they now face. Yet the journey can be difficult and at times even overwhelming. Nonetheless men excel at facing a challenge . . . IF they understand the challenge and are given the tools to deal with it.
I have a special interest in the psychology of men. Through my work with men in individual consultation and men's groups and through my public speaking presentations I've developed insights and specific techniques to help men understand themselves emotionally and thereby enrich their lives
