Taylor is a queer, biracial (Japanese/American), psychotherapist. She received graduate clinical training at Northwestern University, Yale University, and the University of Southern California. In the therapy room, she integrates psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, relational, and emotion-focused therapy while exploring both the individual and how the system at large plays into the narratives we carry. Informed by her work as a professional musician for over 25 years, Taylor enjoys working with artists, musicians, actors/actresses, and other folks working in a variety of creative fields.
Taylor also specializes in working with the LGBTQIA+ community and how identity development and the intersection of our various identifiers, including sexual and gender identities, frame our understanding of the world. Empowerment rooted in gender and sexual exploration and building a strong sense of self are some of Taylor's greatest passions.
Taylor relies on a strong therapeutic relationship in order to achieve understanding and growth with her clients. She aims for a highly collaborative environment and fosters an empathetic space. A judgment-free environment is her number one priority. Taylor is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Southern California.
