Life is wonderful. Life can also be difficult, for everyone. Stress induced anxiety and depression are among the most widespread causes of unhappiness. Finding the balance between taking care of ourselves and taking care of others, seeking joy and helping others find it, can be challenging. All of us human beings have gone through some level of difficult experiences in our lives, but I fully believe that, as the saying goes, it is not what cards we are dealt, but how we play them that determines the direction of our lives.

Our mental health has many aspects: emotional, physical, spiritual, and social. Therapy can be a positive step toward better health in all these areas as well as strengthening stronger, more resilient relationships. In pursuing health, several challenges and difficulties (e.g., unproductive patterns of thought, behavior, and relating) will be considered. Clients may count on support as they identify, recognize, and use their strengths in this process. I am a resource to clients and use a collaborative approach, where we work together to help you do better, feel better, and sometimes, cope with things that may not change.

When it comes to mental health treatment, our approach is simple and unique: our accomplished team of physicians and therapists work together to diagnose and treat your body, mind and spirit as a whole. We are one of the few practices combining traditional treatment with evidence-based alternative therapies, all under one roof. We are privileged to have changed the lives of many families in Chicago's North Shore, as well as out-of-state and foreign visitors. Our "whole body" approach to treating mental health conditions is supported by clinical studies. These include but are not limited to: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), diet and exercise, spiritual/social evaluation, yoga and art therapy. Many still focus only on the brain, treating symptoms, not causes. In many cases they over-prescribe medications. While our physicians do prescribe medications as needed, what sets us apart is our commitment to explore all options. We search for root causes and provide the most appropriate treatment, not merely the most convenient one. When we do prescribe, we go the extra mile to customize a plan that minimizes side effects. You and your family deserve the best in healthcare!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just not yourself there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re having a human response to a complex world. I don’t pathologize the human experience; I help you understand it. Together, we’ll identify your values, the foundation for making choices that bring clarity, peace, and alignment. We will work from there to understand what other tools and practices you may need to cultivate what I call, "Total Health. Total health creates more happiness. Happiness is not a destination, it’s a practice. Total health and happiness starts when you remember that you're not broken, you just need new practices.

Are you overwhelmed with anxiety, fear of uncertainty, and/or unwanted, intrusive thoughts? Are these experiences holding you back from engaging in meaningful parts of your life? If yes, you are not alone. Unmanaged anxiety and OCD can be incredibly painful and lead to feelings of sadness and shame. But there is hope. By learning how to manage the fears, thoughts, and behaviors that keep you stuck, you can begin to embrace the uncertainty and live a more present and fulfilling life.

Hello, My name is Jonathan. I was introduced to the positive impact a therapeutic relationship can have while serving in the United States Marine Corps. A safe environment to share the ongoing challenges we faced, provided us the ability to overcome the barriers we encountered. Since then, I have dedicated my education and career towards embracing life challenges and providing clinical support to our community for over 10 years.

I work with individuals to realize their potential for positive change. Too often, the drive for the life we want is stalled by shame, fear, and anxiety. Events in our past cause us to miss the promise of our future. Together, we will explore, identify and process your thoughts, feelings and behaviors to lead you towards a clear understanding of who you are and what you need to live the life you want.

This is not to just find the best solution for you now, but to continue to find the best solution for you moving forward. You may not be able to control them, but you can learn to manage them successfully and learn to have the life you want and deserve. My clinical focus is person centered, problem focused and solution oriented.
