Hi there, I'm Kimberly. Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the many different roles you play? I offer in-person sessions, both masked and unmasked. My approach to counseling is truly getting to know and understand who my clients are in an open environment. I love having genuine and honest conversations without any judgement to fully connect with my clients. I value humor, transparency, honesty, and self-awareness in his interactions. I completed my Master’s degree at Roosevelt University in Chicago, integrating mental health and social justice. During my graduate work, I interned at St. Elizabeth hospital in Chicago focusing on care coordination for pediatric/adolescent/adult individuals and groups. I previously worked for a humanitarian aviation organization, spending seven years in Indonesia. I apply my international experience when understanding different viewpoints held by clients.

As clients get closer their goals, unforeseen obstacles can crop up, and these roadblocks may cause stress or hardship. I offer a variety of coping skills to help people overcome such obstacles. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor and a fully trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist . I received my Master of Arts/Science degree from Roosevelt University. I specialize in Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD),anxiety, depression, addictions, fears, guilt and a range of life adjustment issues. I work with individuals to help make sense of the past to understand and neutralize the negative influence it has on present functioning and relationships. By clearing up the "debri" from the past, we can fully focus on being our best in the present and future.

For 39 years, I have been passionate about helping people find freedom from personal struggles of depression, anxiety and marriage/ family problems. I treat first with natural alternatives rather than medications. I also specialize in Attention Deficit Disorder and I am a parent of an adult child with ADHD. I personally know the challenges and victory in helping someone with ADHD live their life successfully. I am viewed as the Sherlock Holmes doctor since I work with the most difficult to diagnose cases and help to crack the case of what is causing a person to struggle.

My focus as a therapist is to help individuals who have experienced trauma, anxieties, and depression. Through the therapeutic relationship, I work with people to increase their personal discovery and gain access to the expression of authentic emotion. I believe we are innately designed to survive, and sometimes our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are negatively enacted. My framework identifies that each person is doing the best they can in the moment and it is the therapist’s job to investigate additional moments of resilience, persistence, and self-compassion toward healing.
