I am a licensed therapist in the states of Florida and Illinois - I use TeamCBT, which is a cutting-edge, evidence-based approach that gives them tools to change the way they think and feel and gets them the relief they are looking for. My goal is to be the last counselor they have to see by empowering them with techniques and strategies they can use for the rest of their lives. It is incredible to play a role in getting relief for people who have been suffering and to see them go from despair to freedom. It often happens in a matter of a few sessions. I have been specializing in this approach for over 5 years.

I understand how mental health can make or break future success. If we don’t take care of our mental health, how can we possibly achieve our own personal goals at our highest potential? When it comes to styles of mental health therapy, there is no cookie-cutter approach for any given individual. I build rapport and provide an inviting, calm, and peaceful environment where my clients can feel safe and secure to share feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

Are you tired of obsessing over food and weight? There are so many messages that make us feel like we need to control our body size, above all else. Trying to figure out how to be healthy and take care of yourself can feel like an exhausting, uphill battle. It's not your fault and you don’t have to go through it alone. Wherever you are in your treatment process - if you have an eating disorder or are concerned about your body, your weight or food - I can consult to help you decide your next step. Therapy isn't just for those with a diagnosable eating disorder. If your relationship with your food is distressing, you may need support.

My ideal client is typically frustrated, insecure and suffering with deep-seated feelings of self-doubt and inadequacy. Social relations are awkward, familial relations are conflicted, and hope for the future is waning. The goal is to re-build confidence and self-esteem, and have the client re-establish the sense that they can accomplish their goals socially and vocationally.

For over twenty years, I have been passionate about teaching my clients to better navigate and improve their most important relationships. When something isn't working in a marriage, it really does impact everything else. We may struggle in our relationships with others too... parents, siblings, even friends. Relationships are always about two people, so you might feel you are stuck in limbo, waiting for someone else to change. To help address this common problem, a large part of my practice is devoted to coaching individuals to improve their relationships on their own.

Reaching out for help takes courage. It means you’re able to admit that you don’t have all the answers and have the strength to acknowledge you’re struggling. It’s ok if you don’t know where to begin. We can start with where you are and together work toward where you want to be. I view therapy as an integrative and collaborative process that is grounded in the human capacity for change. The goal of our therapeutic alliance is to develop insight and transformative growth to allow for healing, resulting in a more enriched and abundant life. I believe it is during our most vulnerable moments that we are most open to insight and change

Due to the high demand for effective group therapy, at this time I am only accepting group therapy clients. Group therapy is often the answer for people who have read a million self help books, have been in one-on-one therapy for years, and have tried all kinds of meds, but their anxiety hasn't gotten better. My groups are a good fit for anyone who believes 3 devastating myths about mental health: 1) I'm the only one who has this problem, 2)I am crazy or will go crazy 3) my symptoms are so severe, so unique, so chronic that I am incurable.

My focus as a therapist is to help individuals who have experienced trauma, anxieties, and depression. Through the therapeutic relationship, I work with people to increase their personal discovery and gain access to the expression of authentic emotion. I believe we are innately designed to survive, and sometimes our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are negatively enacted. My framework identifies that each person is doing the best they can in the moment and it is the therapist’s job to investigate additional moments of resilience, persistence, and self-compassion toward healing.

Why do I feel like this? What should I do? These are often the quiet, persistent questions that bring people to therapy. Life’s challenges can make it hard to see a path forward, but I deeply believe that a way forward exists. Even in the midst of struggle, you can find clarity, strength, and purpose. There is power in discovering who you are and therapy can be a space where that discovery unfolds with compassion and intention.

I have been a professional psychotherapist for the past 34 years. Early in my career, most of my focus was on the treatment of children, adolescents and families, often referred some of the most difficult cases from local schools, courts and police departments. As my practice evolved, so did my experience working with adult individuals and couples. Practical experience and continued professional training has enhanced my abilities to work with a variety of personal struggles that include depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, alcohol and substance abuse and relationship struggles with couples and families.
