I work with couples, adults, kids, and families dealing with disruptive events, situations, and behaviors. Some of these situations are typical life transitions: entering adolescence, a new child in the family, school and work conflicts, or life-stage changes. Other transitions are more obviously traumatic: medical crises, chronic illness, infidelity, or the dissolution of long-term relationships. I work with patients that have long-term, debilitating mental illnesses, and patients that have more situational or transitional difficulties. I welcome clients who are struggling with parenting plan issues and post-divorce conflict.

Congratulations on taking the first step towards feeling better! Just deciding to start therapy is a huge step towards healing. We can take the next steps together. I work primarily with queer, transgender, and gender non-conforming clients. Everyone deserves mental health care which is supportive and understanding of our unique culture, experiences, and needs. While my specialty is working with queer clients my skill set is applicable for helping other minority-identity clients. My approach is compassionate and non-judgmental.

Seeking counseling is a deeply personal and courageous step, and I’m so grateful for the chance to walk alongside you. I believe fully experiencing our emotions - even the difficult ones - is essential for growth and healing. Each of us holds a deep well of emotional wisdom, yet experiences of harm, neglect, or trauma can block our access to it. Together, we can create an environment of trust and curiosity to help reopen those pathways, process painful life experiences, and build the tools we all need to form healthy, secure relationships with ourselves and others.

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. You’ve taken a courageous and crucial step towards healing. If you are new to therapy, I know it can feel awkward and maybe even intimidating. It’s okay, together we will take it one step at a time. It will be challenging at times, but I will be here to support and guide you along the way. And, it will also be interesting and fun as you discover more about yourself and develop new skills. If you would like to schedule a free fifteen-minute consultation call and/or schedule your first session, please reach out.

You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I work with adults (18+) facing a wide range of concerns—like anxiety, depression, low motivation, overwhelm, self-doubt, shame, isolation, grief, difficulty managing emotions, body image issues, technology overuse, and burnout. Whether you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of your next steps, therapy can be a space to pause and reflect. I can help explore the roots of your struggles while also building practical tools to move forward. Whatever you're facing, we’ll work together to tap into your strengths, cultivate resilience, and make meaningful, lasting changes.

I work with people in seasons of change—exploring gender or sexuality, leaving old roles, or redefining what fulfillment means. Many come to therapy with anxiety, depression, or relationship strain during these transitions. They may feel torn between safety and growth—an experience I understand firsthand as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. My role is to offer a grounded, compassionate space to see old patterns clearly and build the courage to live more fully.

From our first phone call, my priority is building a genuine, safe, and unique relationship with you. I'm passionate about men’s mental health, LGBTQ clients, and anyone who's ready to journey deep into the root cause of what brings them to counseling. I often work with anxiety, trauma, OCD, persistent depression, domestic abuse and violence, addictive behaviors, sex and pornography concerns, self-harm, and self-discovery. But before I see any of the issues on this list, I see you as a fellow human being. Our therapeutic relationship is at the core of every insight, skill, or change that might result from our work together.

Lately, it seems the intimate spark between you and your partner is dim at best. Connecting positively has been tacked onto the long list of chores to do rather than being part of your relationship that fuels the fire. Maybe you're struggling with conflict, balancing life, knowing each of your needs, or a sex life that feels pleasurable. At best, you find yourself in an unsatisfying status quo. At worst, you find shame, anger, guilt, or sadness fighting over who takes center stage between the two of you. Regardless, you and your partner can no longer find each other in your intimate moments.

I form strong relationships with clients to explore present concerns while integrating the past and building insight. I approach each client with the careful unpacking of present distress—whether symptoms arise from an unexpected crisis or loss, a difficult transition, or long-term suffering. Many of my clients seek support in navigating difficult emotions; reworking frustrating patterns; strengthening relationships; facing places of tension; and finding greater satisfaction in their lives.

We are not what happened to us. We are what we choose to become - Carl Jung. Do you find yourself in a position where you are constantly battling yourself? Do you question who you are, what you need, and how you can feel well? Are you often reminded of past so much that a future of peace seems unimaginable? Or maybe you are concerned about your child. You do your best, but sometimes your best just doesn’t seem good enough. Day-to-day life may be becoming unmanageable.

My goal as a counselor is for you to feel comfortable to work through life’s difficulties, no matter how big or small, in a safe environment. Through this process, you can gain new insight and start to change the behavioral patterns that no longer serve you. Though therapy can be difficult, I also believe it has the potential to be wildly rewarding, healing and even fun.

Sometimes we get stuck in patterns that don't reflect who we truly are. In therapy, I help individuals make sense of what's happening beneath the surface—how past experiences, unmet needs, or early relationships may still shape how you feel, act, and connect today. I have a special interest in helping men and young adults, neurodivergent clients, and people navigating intimacy, self-esteem, anger, or relational conflict. Our work will be collaborative and curious, helping you move toward greater self-understanding and emotional freedom.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
