I am a licensed clinical professional counselor and research-informed professional who works collaboratively and relationally with adults ages 18 to 100+ years old across a range of mental health concerns, including: anxiety, depression, trauma, lifespan development, attachment, interpersonal relationships, family of origin, gender identity and transition, sexual identity, race and ethnicity, aging, grief and loss, and transitions across the lifespan. I also provide clinical supervision of pre-licensed masters-level professionals.

I work best with clients who want to build more meaningful lives. My work is based in helping people who feel unsatisfied or out of control to connect to themselves and move forward accordingly. The clients I work with often report feeling overwhelmed by their emotions, numb to their emotions, or some combination of the two. This emotional dysregulation tends to leave people feeling helpless or out of control; in therapy, I work together with clients to move toward a vibrant way of living and an understanding of the power they hold to shape their lives for the better.

Through deep listening, accepting compassion, and attunement to the nervous system, I help clients discover wisdom from within, facilitating healing and creating balance, union, and resilience in their lives. I offer a safe container in which it is comforting to open and share that which wants to be heard, felt, understood, and healed. I find it powerful to incorporate guided imagery, somatic awareness, mindfulness practices, attachment-based therapy, touch work, and creation of supportive rituals. During private sessions, I guide clients in building tools and resources to address what is happening in their present lives.

I work with men and women of all ages dealing with a variety of issues. If you or your child struggles with anxiety, depression, anger, addiction, loneliness/isolation, grief and loss, family issues, or just trying to make sense of life, I can create a space for the process of understanding, healing, and growth.

Our systems – from our own bodies to the family and societal systems of which we are a part – are incredibly resourceful and complex. They carry templates and memories of past emboided and inter-generational experiences. And while our systems are adaptive and responsive, sometimes their best attempts at solving life’s challenges fall flat. In some cases, particularly where there has been acute or developmental trauma, old templates provoke pernicious repetitions – such as immobility in behaviors/relationships, or replacement of one unhelpful behavior/relationship for another equally unsatisfactory one.

Working with children and adolescents and their families since 1997, my emphasis has always been on how to help the adults help their kids. My focus is on finding out what a child needs and then figuring out how to help their parents, schools or caregivers meet those needs. I work with a variety of presenting concerns-from anxiety, depression, behavorial problems, grief, trauma, divorce and normal life transitions.

I believe that within every person is the capacity and courage to be who one truly is and live a joyful life. My goal is to help you overcome life's obstacles and find more authenticity, connection and meaning in your life. My approach is integrative and addresses the interplay of emotional, mental and physical well-being. I work with mindfulness, body-centered, positive psychology, and existential techniques to help you become more self aware, live more fully in the present, reduce distress, maintain healthy relationships, and to live an authentic life.
