Hello! My name is Liz and I appreciate you taking time to learn more about me. Navigating grief, loss, or trauma can feel overwhelming — sometimes even impossible to face alone as you try to find your new normal. These experiences can be incredibly difficult to talk about, and it’s completely okay to feel unsure or overwhelmed. We’ll take small steps together. There is no right or wrong way to grieve or to process trauma. Your experience is unique, and we will always move at your pace.

Many of my clients are young adults navigating the uncertainty that comes with life's transitions—starting a career, ending or beginning relationships, adjusting to college or adulthood, or simply trying to figure out who they are and where they're headed. If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, or struggling to find balance, you're not alone. My approach is warm, compassionate, and strengths-based. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change. Together, we'll work to better understand what's keeping you stuck.

Let’s be honest: life can throw a lot at us. Sometimes it’s the big, painful things that leave a mark… and sometimes it’s the quiet, everyday stuff that slowly builds up until we realize we’ve been carrying more than we thought. Therapy is a space to finally set some of that down for a while — to breathe, make sense of what’s been happening, and start feeling a little more like yourself again. Together, we’ll explore how your experiences have shaped your emotions, the patterns that may be holding you back, and the parts of you that long to be seen and understood.

Whether you're coming to therapy because you feel overwhelmed, stuck, are looking for guidance, or need help accepting one of life's many transitions, you're in the right place. I believe everyone can benefit from finding balance in life, which is hard in today's world. Sometimes we need an outside perspective, which is where I come in. Stress is what happens when reality and expectations don't match. Let's work together to change this equation so that accepting your reality helps you find balance.

Hi, I'm so glad you're here! I enjoy working with adults ages 18 and older who are navigating through the challenges of anxiety, depression, life transitions, low self esteem, grief, difficulty processing emotions, and many other hurdles that can leave folks feeling stuck and overwhelmed. In sessions, I aim to provide a safe space to support the honest and vulnerable exploration of your personal experiences. The things you have endured, and carried (maybe for weeks, months, years, or your whole life), are deserving of being named, and heard without judgment.

You don’t need someone to tell you to "do more" or "try this." You need to understand why you feel like you have to. As a woman—whether you are navigating the pressure of school, the grind of a career, or the relentless balancing act of motherhood—you are likely a master of "handling it," but there is a difference between managing your life and actually living it. I work exclusively with women who are tired of the internal noise and pressure. My approach is rooted in Relational-Constructivist Inquiry, which is a fancy way of saying we look at your story together to see how your past is showing up in your now and how we can change.

I believe everyone is deserving of living a full and balanced life, and that people are entitled to a space where they are safe to be their true selves. I also believe we have a responsibility to strive to be our best selves and engage with the world from a place of healing and humility. No one is going to get it right every time, but I hope to help people to be able to identify harmful patterns and offer support in making positive changes.

I want to help you achieve the kind of life you have always wanted, to help you overcome obstacles that stand between you and your hopes and dreams. Many clients tell me they wish they had come to see me sooner. They regret the wasted months... sometimes years. There is no reason to continue to suffer, to continue repeating the same mistakes, or to keep arguing about the same things over and over. The sooner you call, the sooner you can feel better. Together we can find what's going wrong in your life and get you back on track.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
