Reducing or eliminating emotional eating is my therapeutic focus. At this time I am only able to accept clients interested in our "Why Can't I Stop Eating?" program. If you are eating secretly, eating past fullness or when not hungry, feeling shame after eating or using food to deal with emotions, consider attending the "Why Can't I Stop Eating?" program which includes a weekly 2 hour Skills (classroom-type) group and weekly individual therapy. Persons participating in bariatric programs are also welcome in the Why Can't I Stop Eating? group.
I believe that we all do the best we can with the skills that we have. Sometimes, however, those skills only get us so far, and we need new ones. I teach those new skills in both an educational format and through the therapeutic relationship. I pay special attention to how clients view their lives in order to provide individualized and effective treatment.
I enjoy working with people of all backgrounds, cultures and orientations and consider it an honor to be my clients’ therapist. I am also a licensed supervisor and enjoy providing clinical supervision to clinicians new in the field.

"Why Can't I Stop Eating?" meets on Tuesdays from 5-7 pm, via secure Zoom. Clients learn to reduce or eliminate emotional eating through learning DBT Skills. DBT Skills improve your ability to tolerate distress, choose your emotional responses and balance taking care of yourself with the needs of others. Clients also participate in individual therapy. The program runs 22 weeks with new clients joining on a rolling basis. Commercial insurance and some PMAPs accepted. Medicare does not pay for this group. Clients participating in bariatric programs are also welcome.
