Therapy is an art. It’s a collaborative process of self-discovery and transformation. I believe in the power of meaningful connection and will offer a space where you can explore life’s complexities with honesty, self-compassion, and laughter. Our emotions hold valuable insight. Anger, sadness, fear, and uncertainty aren’t just something to overcome; they are signals pointing us toward deeper needs, boundaries, and truths. My goal is to create a space where you not only feel heard and empowered but also welcomed in your vulnerability.

Although good therapy is serious business it does not have to be grim! I'm very creative and flexible in my approach and view the therapeutic process as a series of hypotheses we explore together. I offer warmth, humor, and sharp analysis of the big picture as well as the details to help you identify what's holding you back and how to move forward differently in a clear, practicable way. In my office we will laugh a lot but we will also work very hard. More than just a psychological travel agent I strive to be a tour guide leader. Your journey is not my journey but I walk with you, in the muck with you, as you determine where to go.

I offer therapy services for both children and adults. I aim to support all ages in processing life transitions, anxiety, family conflict, relationship challenges, identity exploration and building social skills. With children, I use play and simple conversation to help them process their experiences and grow, while also supporting parents through the challenges of caring for a child facing mental health concerns. With adults, I create a safe space to explore emotions and beliefs, then examine their impact on well-being. Together, we gently challenge unhelpful patterns to foster clarity, balance, and a higher quality of life.

I work a lot with individuals and couples suffering from a variety of difficulties and emotional stress. Through various therapeutic models, we dive deep into the cause of these difficulties to target strong emotional, holistic healing. A lot of times, we focus on generational trauma, early childhood experiences, and patterns in relationship.

Have you been feeling discouraged, worried about the future, disconnected from others, or impacted by early experiences? For the past 20+ year I’ve learned that real change often starts when we pause, reflect, and begin asking different questions—sometimes the kind that don’t fit neatly inside the box. I work with adults, couples, and families who are navigating that familiar feeling of being stuck. My approach is creative, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I’m always learning and evolving, seeking the right balance between proven techniques and personalized care that actually fits your life.

Therapy is a lot of work. I’m here for the hard work though. I’m eager to accompany clients in the work and be a supportive listener all throughout. I believe that humans are capable of a lot, and even in the face of something big, small steps can be taken to make progress. In working many years at an abortion clinic, I realized that I enjoyed listening to and being an advocate for individuals in their pregnancy and major life decisions. I make an effort to not shy away from difficult conversations. I try to be straight forward and transparent in my approach.

I have experience working with a very diverse set of individuals over the course of my career in the mental health field. Most individuals I work with struggle with issues that are considered dual diagnosis, or individuals that struggle with both mental health and substance use issues. I have experience working with all different ages, ethnicities, sexual orientation, mental health issues, and substance use preferences. I also come from a lens of years of lived experiences and being able to offer a lens of "coming out the other side." I provide an empathetic atmosphere that is goal orientated, and comes from an unbiased lens.

I am currently accepting new clients on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. When people come to me for therapy, it usually starts with a quiet realization that something in life just isn’t working anymore. Maybe you’re stuck in the same old patterns, questioning who you are, or feeling weighed down by anxiety, trauma, or relentless self-criticism. I don’t see these struggles as signs that you’re broken or need fixing. I see them as signals, responses that once helped you cope, adapt, or survive. In our work together, we’ll dig into these patterns, make sense of them, and help you reconnect with yourself again.

I have experience working with all ages but specialize in teens, young adults, and families. Navigating trauma, family dynamics, mental health, difficult emotions, behavioral issues, and everything that comes with growing up can feel daunting and overwhelming. It is important to me to help clients move through these issues in a way that specifically resonates for them, with the understanding that what works for one person will not always work for another. Helping clients identify individualized goals and tools is important in successful treatment.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
