Trauma is any adverse experience that causes extreme emotional reaction: nightmares, flashbacks, anxiety etc. When meeting with me many reach their destination feeling guilty for their response to their unique experience — because its “less than” others. My preferred style of therapy is short-term, skills-based, solution focused therapy. Teaching you how to manage anxiety is a major part of therapy and developing skills will be a significant part of our work together. I have extensive training in EMDR and use it often to help clients resolve distressing memories or lingering symptoms of trauma.
