Are you having a hard time? Life is full of both struggle/pain and beauty/joy. It can be especially difficult to manage the painful hard times if we are feeling stuck, doubting ourselves, or lacking emotional support. Many times, we are subconsciously holding onto fixed and limiting beliefs from the past that influence how we think, feel, and act in the present.

I am a Marriage and Family Intern who believes in empowering others to feel confident in the change they are seeking. We all go through life and wish that we had support, understanding, and someone to help us through all that life throws at us. Is this you? Are you struggling with relationship(s) and need someone to work that through with you? Do you feel isolated, judged, lacking confidence, or just feeling overwhelmed? I work with children, adults and families in a systemic model that have Medicaid or are able to do private pay.

The hardest part about therapy is having to deal with those thoughts, feelings, and memories we've been pushing aside for so long. What makes it even harder, are our fears of being judged for who we are, what we've gone through, or how we've acted. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being your true self. I do this by showing you genuine compassion, empathy, and understanding as we work through the tougher stuff. As such, I work with children, teens, families, and adults whose social, academic/work, behavioral, physical, and/or emotional well-being has been negatively impacted by ongoing mental health struggles.

I help people who struggle with anxiety and childhood trauma gain insights and find simple strategies to find relief. My clients include perfectionists, overthinkers, and people-pleasers who feel stuck and overwhelmed but want to make changes in their lives. My clients often feel stressed from navigating life's challenges, anxious from overthinking, and worried about letting others down. I am passionate about working with people who feel "not good enough" and helping them to feel more confident so they can reach their goals and feel more peace.

Have you tried other forms of therapy or don't have confidence that counseling is going to help you? Brainspotting (BSP) may be the type of treatment that will assist you. Developed initially for PTSD, it has been found to be extremely effective in helping people overcome performance issues whether they are at work, home, athletically, or relationaly related. Whether it is trauma or anxiety symptoms that are the root cause of your problem, BSP can help you move beyond the negative beliefs and mental barriers that stem from these symptoms, to a place of peace, confidence, and improved well being.

I have over 12 years of experience working with people with SPMI and other mental illnesses. My approach is didactic, eclectic and client-centered; as I feel that there is not one method to assist people with reaching wellness and wholeness. I do not take the expert role. I feel that each person and family have strengths that are undiscovered to better handle the challenges in life. I have worked with children, teens, and adults. I am dedicated in ensuring best practices in the treatment of mental health and co-occurring disorders.

Anxiety leaves us overwhelmed, frustrated, and feeling trapped. You may be sick of feeling stressed in everyday situations, tired of overanalyzing conversations, and worrying that you are not good enough. You might not remember a time when things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to feel confident in yourself without feeling overwhelmed. You’re ready to look at your relationship with anxiety and make changes in your life to feel more peace. Most of all, you’re ready to learn how to believe in yourself and work through anxiousness.

So you've tried therapy before, and it hasn't "worked". You've talked about your problems, they're still there, you're still bothered by your 'stuff' and it doesn't seem like it's ever going to be different. Excellent! Then you're in the right place. We don't just talk about things here, we actually do something about them! Instead of putting a bandaid on it, we're going to dig in and do some trauma work to resolve what's going on. Does that sound like a different approach? Most likely, but I'm a different kind of therapist!

Are you feeling stuck, at the end of your rope, like there's no way out? Please know that you're not alone, you deserve help and you are so worth it! There are options to get the help you need but it starts with you. Many people need help but some are afraid, unable or unwilling to do something about it. We can't expect to see changes if we continue to do the same things everyday. As your therapist, my goal is to help give you the hope and healing you need to reach your goals, to find happiness and to be the best version of yourself. I am here with you in your journey and believe we can grow from our vulnerability.

I work with individuals ages 10+. My approach to treatment focuses on trauma-informed care (TIC). This approach helps identify and address trauma's impact on the various parts of an individual's life. I value and understand the influence of people's culture on their mental health. It's important to know an individual's home/work environment and support system to develop appropriate and achievable treatment goals.

Our world is a challenging place to live in right now. Anxiety and depression are common and yet isolating at the same time. We're encouraged to seek help and when we do, there can be consequences such as missed work, strained finances and even judgement from others. Are you experiencing any of these issues? Are you feeling nervous, scared, or worried and can't identify the cause? What about feeling isolated from friends or family, although surrounded by them most of the time? Sometimes these lonely and nervous feelings lead to further withdrawal and avoidance of the activities that typically bring us joy. I want to help you.

We all have things that sometimes get in the way of living the life that we want to live. That is part of the human experience, and sometimes you need an objective and kind voice to help you reflect. It may take just a few sessions to get back on track, or you need more time and support to heal and grow. Whatever place you are in, I work to create a safe space in which you can explore, learn, grow and heal.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Green Bay?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
