Many life experiences impact the way we see our selves and the world, while certain experiences may cause us to disconnect from who we are and a life that is meaningful to us. I aim to help clients make sense of their experiences and reconnect with a more meaningful, aligned life. Our work will combine honest, deep conversation with moments of humor and lightness to make difficult conversations approachable. I also provide psychological assessments for children and adults (e.g., ADHD, Autism, and more) to support clients in understanding and normalizing their experiences, while gaining access to helpful accommodations.

You’re at a point in your life or relationship where something isn’t working, but you’re not sure what needs to change. You may be questioning your direction, feeling stuck as you move into adulthood, or unsure what you want next. In your relationships, conversations turn into misunderstandings, or you’re trying to communicate but still feel unheard or disconnected. You might find yourself repeating the same patterns or wondering how to show up differently. I work with teens, adults, and couples navigating identity, communication challenges, relationship strain, and life transitions who want more clarity and connection.

With an understanding that you are an expert on your own life and experiences, I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to support them in their journey to actualized wellness. Utilizing a systemic lens allows for a non-blaming, holistic approach to identifying difficult interactional patterns, historical/familial patterns of behavior, and encourages clients to take ownership of the things that are within their control while allowing them let go of the things that are not. Therapy can be a scary and difficult process and I strive to show up authentically to allow clients' conscious exploration of their healing journey.

Maybe survival mode once protected you, but now leaves you feeling stuck or disconnected. What you’ve been through may still show up today as anxiety, feeling overwhelmed or on edge, or going numb when things feel like too much. You may have learned ways to cope that helped you get through difficult experiences, but now feel harder to manage or no longer helpful. This can include substances or other coping strategies that once brought relief, but now feel more complicated or difficult to rely on. Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to navigate this alone.

While therapy can begin because of a symptom or problem – depression, insomnia, alcohol and substance use, or sexual dysfunction – symptoms are not the guiding stars of therapy. I practice therapy that is about making space for your whole self and making use of insight to understand your relationship to change. Whether our work is brief or long-lasting, we will work to discover and relate to the totality of who you are.

Whatever you are struggling with doesn’t have to be handled by yourself. Maybe isolation has been your thing for a while but you’re ready for a change. Maybe the dishes are piling up, your head is buzzing with thoughts, or you want to do the thing but you just can’t seem to do it. Perhaps grief, stress, or transitions are overwhelming you and you’re not sure what to do. It’s a unique and challenging time to be a human. That being said, representation matters, even in therapeutic spaces. As an AuDHD and queer-identified therapist, I know how helpful it can be to talk to someone who gets it.

I love being a therapist and having the privilege of helping people heal, grow, and discover (or re-discover) their purpose in life. It takes tremendous courage to share with another person what you want to change about yourself. I feel that my role is to be a compassionate guide and facilitator to help you learn about yourself, your roots, your helpful and unhelpful personal habits and patterns with others. I use art, music, psychodrama, dreamwork, intuition and active listening to help you challenge yourself and become the sort of person you want to be in the world.

Emotional pain does not arise in a vacuum. Our distress often reflects the impact of past experiences, relationships, and large systems we've had to navigate. I approach therapy through a humanistic and systems-aware lens, recognizing that healing involves both personal and relational transformation. I work with LGBTQIA+ individuals, people of diverse gender identities and sexual orientations, and those engaged in non-traditional, consensual relationship structures. My work is grounded in a nonjudgmental approach that honors your full complexity and lived experience.

Through an attuned presence and your mindful awareness in therapy, you can engage in healing and connection to yourself and the world around you. * You can be happy * loving and effective counseling for individuals (adults, youth & children), couples (pre-marital, new parent couples, partnership, marriage, divorce, separation and co-parenting) and families (house calls available). Call to set up a free phone consultation to see if we are a match to help you and/ or your loved ones on a healing path. Fear is the greatest obstacle to healing: fear of pain, fear of being alone, fear of the truth, fear of the mess change would require. The antidote to fear is courage.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
