Experiencing an emotional or personal issue that is restricting your ability to enjoy life? I help clients work on those things that are getting in the way, such as, problematic emotional, behavioral or relational patterns, stress, and symptoms of depression and anxiety. Life is really hard at times and it can help to have some extra support, especially, if you are feeling alone, isolated or finding that others don't really understand.

I work with clients who are wanting to understand themselves more fully, figure out what may be holding them back from the life they've imagined for themselves, uncover what is beneath troubling behaviors, and/or find ways of being and relating that feel healthier and more fulfilling. Some clients come in speaking of feeling discouraged, restless, worried, unfulfilled, or unhappy within themselves and/or their relationships; others come in with a hope that life, despite its hardships and challenges, could feel a bit better.

Rich and meaning-filled living is our birthright. Relationships, current life situation, inner struggle, the way we are wired or past experience can interfere with our natural capacity to thrive. With 30 years of experience as a therapist, I believe our conflicts and struggles are the doors through which our growth comes. I devote my practice and continued learning most powerful ways to support the fullest flourishing possible for each of us, no matter our circumstance. With this in mind, I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I also use on-going evaluation to insure our work together is effective and satisfying.

Worrying is exhausting, sometimes even scary. What if things don't go as planned? What if the worst happens? Will I be prepared? What if people judge me? Your mind races and your body reacts. Sleepless nights, racing heartbeat, clenched jaw. You feel the urge to plan out every possible scenario or you feel the need to run away from it all. It becomes difficult to make decisions and you find yourself avoiding or distracting from these feelings. And then, it all comes back and starts all over again. It is so uncomfortable and not how you want to live.

As a queer therapist, I am extremely passionate about caring for my community in the ways this career allows. I take pride in ensuring my sessions are a safe and supportive space, and I am part of the communities I serve. I am trauma informed, sex positive, kink knowledgeable and neurodivergent affirming. I meet every client where they are at and see them as a person, not a set of symptoms to be "solved" or "fixed". I embrace the fact that healing is non-linear (and often messy!), and encourage my clients to cultivate compassion for themselves and the varied journeys that have led them to my virtual space.

I strive to build a therapeutic alliance with clients seeking a safe, affirming space to explore their identity, heal from trauma, and manage challenges like anxiety, depression, issues of aging, or gender dysphoria. Everyone needs to feel seen, understood, and empowered with the tools to navigate life’s stressors. I work with clients to live authentically, build healthy relationships, and cultivate self-acceptance, embracing who they are without hiding.

Are you feeling like it's time to better understand what your unsettling feelings are trying to tell you? It could be that these have been present since you were young, or maybe it's an entirely new experience. In either case, I'm glad you found your way here. You deserve to enjoy your days and I will work with you to help you manage any fear or worry by getting to the heart of what is leading you to feel a lack of calm confidence. Maybe you already know the source but simply need to talk about it so that it doesn't have as much control over you. Either way, it's time for a new approach to dealing with this!
