The path to a quality world can be intimidating for people. I understand how it can feel like it is one that you are on alone. My work with diverse groups: adolescents, people that identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples, and people with disabilities (PWDs) informs me of some of these challenges. My experience supporting clients in their path to wellness through anxiety, depression, trauma, disability acceptance, adoption/reunification, incarceration, personality disorders and relationship/intimacy challenges makes me confident in the progress we can achieve in counseling together.

My goal is to help clients achieve improved functioning as quickly as possible. I believe the most powerful transformation comes from a combination of techniques to understand and reset non-adaptive patterns, including neurofeedback, other forms of biofeedback, such as heart rate variability, emotional freedom technique (EFT), and a personality assessment I use called the Enneagram, combined with behaviorally-based counseling, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The combination of these techniques provide the foundation for holistically examining issues that stand in the way of a fuller life.

Has your experience of life become so painful that you are desperately searching for a reason to live? Have you been “putting in the work” with therapy, medication, and using coping skills, but nothing seems to really get better and you’re not sure where else to turn? I not only spent years in traditional treatment, but I dedicated my life to understanding the mind and mental health…and nothing stopped the suffering. After exhausting all options, I began looking outside the box, and eventually found what I had always been looking for: a way out. Not a way out of the body, but a way out of the mind that was torturing me.

I enjoy working with clients with many different issues and backgrounds. I have many years of experience working with adolescents, the elderly, and everyone in-between. I have experience helping clients with behavior problems, assisting parents with managing behaviors of their children, helping couples work-out their issues, and assisting individuals with depression, anxiety, and OCD. I seek to understand my clients' challenges, and help them develop skills and strategies to overcome them.

It is my belief that people need truth to be emotionally and spiritually healthy. But I believe that the truth needs to be compassionately delivered with a heart full of grace. My sincere hope is that encouragement is evident in my counsel, whether I am visiting with a troubled married couple or an 8 year-old child who has been the victim of abuse. The identified desire of the client is the target of the counseling sessions and my goal to help each individual, couple or family experience freedom.

All of us have struggles in our lives. We deal with changes, loss, relationships, depression, or anxiety. We may struggle with our ability to trust, low self esteem, or healing from a difficult past. We question ourselves and our direction. Perhaps we question our sexuality. We don't need someone to tell us what to do, just a person to process things with, to help us find our way...

Childhood, adolescence, and adulthood are filled with so many different experiences, with everyone’s being unique. Some may come across smaller obstacles throughout their lifetime, whereas others may encounter obstacles that seem too big to overcome on their own. These obstacles that we encounter can come in many different forms, but it is when we cannot overcome them on our own that psychotherapy can equip us with skills to help.

At the Trauma and Attachment Center, we focus on helping people process their traumas and strengthen their attachments. We are a small group of clinicians with a passion for helping and making people feel welcome. The center was founded by Danie Duron and the following is her personal statement: My ideal client would be a person hoping to heal their trauma that they have encountered in life and would like to use EMDR, (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) in order to do so.

I enjoy seeing individuals (including therapists) who are working on resolving complex trauma and couples who are dealing with high conflict/unresolved conflict. I maintain a small, specialized practice in these areas. I have two Master's degrees in counseling and 30+ yrs experience. I practice in the states of Illinois and Michigan. I'm a trauma-sensitive psychotherapist, certified in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through telehealth. EMDR is an exciting approach to trauma response that can often very quickly and successfully help resolve immediate trauma and clear long-term emotional blocks.

Hey there, I'm really glad you're here. Let me tell you a bit about why therapy is so meaningful to me. I began my own journey into therapy when I was younger, facing similar struggles to what you might be experiencing now. It wasn't easy, but therapy became my anchor during those tough times. It showed me that even in the midst of darkness, there's hope and room for joy. Now, I'm here to offer you that same support and guidance. If you're ready to take that step, I'm here to walk alongside you, helping you find the tools you need to feel better.

Healing requires a quiet kind of courage. It often begins with a small stirring and the realization that life can feel calmer, more connected, and more true to who you are. If you’re someone who keeps it together for everyone else but often feels overwhelmed or unseen, you’re not alone. I work with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, low self-worth, or the weight of unresolved experiences. Many have spent years feeling out of touch with themselves, others, and the sense of peace they long for.
