When you feel lost and all alone you want someone to listen and to care. Things you can't tell everyone but you can share your thoughts and feelings with me and be safe.

My approach is collaborative and holistic. I believe each person has the strengths and abilities needed to navigate life’s challenges, and my role is to help you uncover and build upon them. As a trauma specialist, I work with adults who have experienced childhood sexual trauma, physical or emotional abuse, and with service members and veterans facing survivor’s guilt or military-related trauma. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where healing can begin. Reaching out can be hard—let’s connect and see if we’re a good fit to walk this path together.

Are you feeling sad, overwhelmed, uncomfortable or bored with life? Do you find yourself having unfulfilling, difficult or short-lived relationships? Are you using alcohol or drugs to help with "feeling bad"? Does anxiety and depression take away the peace and joy in your life? Do you sometimes feel as if you are simply stuck and just"going through the motions" and not sure where you're headed? Is something is lacking in your life, but you aren't quite sure what it is. Are you having difficulty dealing with the effects of having grown up in a dysfunctional home?

Do sadness and worry often trouble you? Life's stresses can be overwhelming at times leading to feelings of loneliness, fear, and despair. If you struggle with anxiety or depression, you already know how it can interfere with who you are and the way you want to live your life. Because the mind and body are so interconnected, these problems may be affecting your physical well-being as well. You know that you need to do something, but you may not be certain where to turn for the help you need to overcome these difficult issues.

Everyone wishes to be happy. However, personal struggles frequently interfere with the quality of life we crave. Those barriers frequently are characterized by poor social skills, emotional disorders, inability to cope with adversity and frustration, inadequate life planning, self-destructive behaviors and poor judgment when making decisions. However, the worst form of thinking is when someone gives up and believes they can't change their life. But when people can combine their hopes and efforts through the guidance of an experienced therapist, they begin writing their own success story by which they acquire that quality of life that is so precious, meaningful and satisfying.

I enjoy working with a variety of issues: including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, self harm, eating disorders, and suicidality. I also love the tough cases; the cases others are afraid to touch. You AREN’T too much for me. You won’t freak me out or scare me off. I like leaning into "all of it" and dissecting ways to better approach life’s challenges. Sometimes we just need to know that we are going to be alright. And other times, we might just need someone to share the silence. Regardless of the issues, we will figure this out together.

Does your life seem filled with conflict? Do you struggle with persistent painful emotions? Have you found yourself entrapped by bad habits? These are a sample of some of the painful experiences many may have. Each day we hope that something will change. It isn't circumstances that must change...but who we are. One day, we tell ourselves, we will finally emerge out of the shadows of our struggles. At LPS, therapy not only addresses immediate problems, but helps build greater insight, personal skill building and thinking tools as essential steps toward that fulfilling life and successful future.

Our ideal client is the "Dedicated Striver," a high-functioning individual often successful externally but struggling internally with high-functioning anxiety and burnout. Their Issues include relentless perfectionism, self-criticism, and an inability to set boundaries, leading to exhaustion and sometimes masked depression. Their Needs are a non-judgmental space, a clear diagnostic and treatment plan (including medication management?), and validation that their internal struggle is real despite their success. Their Goals are sustainable stability and peace. They want to shift their self-worth from productivity to intrinsic value

I am a highly experienced therapist who comes from a holistic perspective, that is, all aspects of a person’s life are significant. It is my intention that people I work with experience a sense of being understood and cared for. I especially enjoy my work when clients find inner resources to understand and resolve their difficulties. Clients are greatly relieved, sometimes amazed, when for the first time, through the application of Mindfulness CBT, they are able to manage their busy, distracted minds, seemingly overwhelming emotions, or the constant distraction of chronic pain.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
