I’m Amanda, a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults in the Flint area who are struggling with feeling defeated by the system, are battling injustices (racial, identity, economic, etc.), are processing significant changes in life, and need to learn ways to cope. I also believe that knowledge is power, so you’ll walk away from counseling with an understanding not only of who you are but the ways that your mental health can influence every aspect of your life.
My approach to therapy is nontraditional and totally focused on you. We’re going to talk about your current experiences and your childhood, identifying ways your past may have influenced how you’re feeling today. Sessions with me are casual and laid back -- I am focused on creating a space where you can be fully you.
I believe you have potential in you. I want to help you reach it. My goal is to offer a place of stability and safety, so you can explore the meaning of your past experiences and how to operate in your day-to-day life in a way that feels healthy and authentic to you. I believe mental health should be accessible to everyone, no matter what.
