I believe the ability to be genuine and create connections with other people are the most important factors in maintaining peace and happiness. I encourage my clients to strive toward this by helping them explore who they are and find the tools they need to evolve into who they want to become. My style is candid and compassionate. I challenge my clients, but I realize that each person comes in with different needs, interests, and talents. I approach the treatment of each client with an eclectic perspective based on their personal qualities and situations.
I treat clients for many common conditions like anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, but specialize in helping clients find expression. My graduate research was on inhibited grief, and I treat many people for trauma, including women and men who are survivors of sexual abuse. I also offer life coaching and writing and speaking on related topics.
I help therapy clients uncover difficult issues at their own pace in a safe, confidential environment. I help coaching clients draft and achieve goals with encouragement, support and accountability. Additionally, I have great respect for the humanity of my clients, and I never forget that I am human myself.
