You don’t need to have it all figured out to start therapy. Many of the clients I’ve worked with have felt overwhelmed by the demands of others struggling with anxiety, burnout, or a sense of disconnection from themselves. In our work together, we focus on building boundaries, gaining clarity, and reconnecting with your sense of self. My goal is to help you feel empowered to prioritize your well-being and begin living in alignment with your own values. This is your life, and you deserve to feel at home in it.

I am a Licensed Social Worker with extensive experience supporting individuals navigating traumatic experiences, as well as grief and loss. I know it can feel as if the pain will always feel as intense as it does in the moment you’re currently in, but there is hope. If we were to work together, I would not help you to erase the trauma or loss, but to live past it; to live well in spite of it. It is possible to experience joy and hope for the future, even after such devastating experiences. Whether your pain started yesterday or decades ago, I am here to help.

You’ve been doing your best to keep it all together, but under the surface, there’s a storm: anxiety, old wounds, or a feeling that life has somehow veered off track. Maybe you’ve started questioning your relationship with substances or are tired of feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You crave a sense of clarity, connection, and control. You want to feel more like yourself — but not just the old you, the best version of you. Someone who’s confident, free, and at peace. You’re ready for the real work — and you’re looking for someone who’s genuine, grounded, and ready to walk this road with you.

Embarking on the journey of therapy can often feel overwhelming for many individuals. It’s not uncommon to experience uncertainty about the process, question its potential benefits, or feel as though you need to be further along in your personal growth before seeking assistance. I recognize these challenges and am committed to creating a compassionate and nurturing environment where clients can safely explore their thoughts and emotions. My objective is to help clients understand that each step, no matter how small, is a vital part of the journey toward healing and personal development.

Each season of life comes with it's own challenges. Childhood can come with adjustments to change, family stress, school demands, and scary or unexpected events. Many new parents are faced with perinatal mental health struggles and many seasoned parents need support in managing their own or their children's mental health. College and young adulthood often brings it's own challenges and growing into the happy, confident, and independent person, parent, and student is easier with support. It is important to find the right therapist for you, no mater life's season.

Life can be difficult. Counseling shouldn’t be. When you’re struggling to cope with symptoms of anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD, addiction, relationship stress, or family problems in your life, starting therapy is a courageous step toward change. If you are feeling out of balance or in distress, it can feel defeating to reach out for help and be met with unreturned calls, waitlists, or therapists who are not taking new clients. Not addressing your issues with a professional can often lead to increased symptoms while you wait for your first appointment. We see children, teens, adults, families, and couples.

Are you feeling mentally drained and emotionally exhausted? Does it feel like anxiety is ruling your life? Is your guilt, shame, or self-doubt from past trauma negatively impacting your relationships? If so, you are not alone. Over time, our irrational thoughts and fears are cognitively reinforced, often making us feel emotionally stuck. Many of these thoughts, feelings, and behavioral responses can become unhelpful in our daily functioning and relationships, causing helplessness, chronic anxiety, and depression. If you're ready to move forward, confront your past, and learn to thrive in the present, you've come to the right place!

As a counselor, I believe in the transformative power of insight as the foundation for meaningful change. My approach centers on helping clients uncover the precursors to their struggles, whether rooted in past experiences, deeply held beliefs, or automatic thought patterns. Through compassionate exploration, I assist individuals in identifying the underlying factors contributing to their current symptoms, fostering self-awareness that serves as a catalyst for growth. I emphasize the importance of this initial realization, helping clients connect with their reasons for change and the motivation that drives them forward.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in 47903?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
