Life brings twists and turns, and sometimes it helps to have a steady, supportive guide along the way. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, encouraged, and understood. As a licensed therapist, I draw on a strengths-based approach honoring what’s already working while gently exploring areas that may need extra care or growth. I believe the mind and body are deeply connected and can support one another in the healing process. In our work together, we may use strategies like boundary setting, mindfulness, self-care, and self-compassion to help you feel more grounded and resilient.

I’m committed to creating a space where clients feel genuinely supported as they work toward meaningful, lasting change. My areas of focus include depression and anxiety, substance use and misuse, LGBTQ+ experiences, men’s issues and masculinity, college students, and those navigating transitions in life, family, and career. I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Indiana University, studying education, counseling, and human development. My longstanding connection to IU also includes years of work in counseling, teaching, and administrative roles, giving me a strong understanding of both campus and community dynamics.

Sometimes life confronts us with experiences that are disruptive personally or in our relationships resulting in feelings of depression, anxiety, or loss. While these feelings are normal, they can present challenges in terms of maintaining our sense of well-being and our ability to function well in our daily lives. In my view, the purpose of therapy is to help clients understand the source of disruptions, help them learn strategies for coping with and working-through difficult emotions, and become aware of triggering experiences. In this way, clients can learn how to repair disruptions and thereby restore their sense of well-being.

With 19 years of counseling experience, I’m passionate about helping clients—from school-aged children to adults—gain deeper self-understanding and make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, ADHD/ASD, and navigating life, school, and career transitions. Much of my background has been in university counseling, where I supported college students through one of the most pivotal and transformative times in life. Now Accepting New Clients. Navigating through the journey of life we inevitably run into hindrances that challenge our momentum. Change is hard and can often be sudden and unpredictable, leaving us without the proper tools to cope with these changes. We have to learn to acclimate to our surroundings on our terms. Whether it's a traumatic response, addiction, grief and loss, anxiety, loss of confidence, feeling lost and overwhelmed, feelings of depression or stagnation, there's hope. It takes courage to look into a mirror and see who's looking back, it takes strength to want to make a change and hope to inspire change.

My work is largely focused on working with mid to late life adults who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences. Traumatic events and early childhood attachment wounds impact our lives psychologically, emotionally, and physically and often lead to chronic anxiety, depression, dissociation, substance use, and other life challenges. I am also keenly aware of the personal impact of systemic oppression and work to support people who are in marginalized groups while also continuing my own education.

My work with clients hinges on creating powerful, collaborative, and respectful relationships that form the basis for your growth and development. I am skilled at helping clients see how they succeed as well as how they interrupt their own potential for success. While my focus is positive and optimistic, I’m committed to helping people remove the obstacles that have stopped them from achieving the success they seek in both their personal and professional lives.
