I support teens and young adults through some of the most formative and overwhelming seasons of life. I work especially with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, identity shifts, relationship challenges, and emotional distress. The years between adolescence and adulthood can feel heavy, full of pressure, loss, questions, and quiet self-doubt. It can feel isolating to hold it all inside. You deserve a space where you don't have to. I integrate evidence-based practices with a person-centered lens. I focus not only on symptoms, but on understanding the deeper patterns, experiences, and emotions shaping your life.

I am a seasoned professional who loves to use my knowledge and skills to help people find more joy in their lives. For 25 years I helped adults and children with anxiety, anger, depression, ADHD, traumas, and relationship conflicts. In 2020 I received advanced training in Sex Therapy from the Ohio Center for Relationship and Sexual Health in Cleveland. My practice is now focussed on relationships and sexual health. Some questions we answer together are: What is healthy sexuality for me? How can I get more joy from my relationship and my sex life? What is the realistic path to greater harmony and teamwork in my relationship?

If you’re here, it’s because something in your life or your child’s life feels heavy, overwhelming, or stuck. And I want you to know this: you don’t have to carry it alone anymore. I specialize in helping children, families, and individuals navigate the pain they often don’t have words for whether it’s trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, or confusing behavior patterns that seem impossible to break. My approach is deeply compassionate, warm, and rooted in genuine connection. I believe healing happens when you feel safe, understood, and supported, not judged or rushed.

We all want to be our best selves, but there are times in life when we get stuck and need insight to stop those "never ending thoughts." We may feel anxious and depressed or don’t quite know what is bothering us. Trauma induced anxiety can overwhelm and debilitate. We need a little extra help to deal with these issues in an atmosphere of safety, warmth, humor and nonjudgmental support. I am here to help. I believe no one is on an island and finding someone to help create a safe and comforting space to heal, is just the beginning of the therapeutic journey. In this space, you can feel guided through regaining your peace.

I began my journey towards the art of healing through therapy after working in community mental health where I recognized how active listening matched with providing tools of healing and hope helped to change people's lives. I believe that individuals have the potential within themselves to discover their own healing journey. My therapeutic style is eclectic, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused care, narrative therapy and solution-focused therapy. I believe that I bring a unique voice of care in working with survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking.

So you find yourself scrolling through lists of therapists. Welcome! What brings you here today? Maybe life stressors have become too much, and you’d like some extra support. Maybe you’re scared or angry or numb and you don’t know what else to do. Maybe you’re looking for a safe space to finally process through those major life events. I would be happy to help. Let's see if we're a good fit. The idea of healing and living authentically can be intimidating, especially when we might struggle to find a space where we feel safe and supported. But you don’t have to do this alone. You just have to put one foot in front of the other.

I love working with clients to help them create a life worth living. One they don't want or have to run away from. Together, we identify your goals and create a plan to work toward these goals. For some clients, these are tangible goals like reducing clutter, reducing PTSD flashbacks, etc. Other clients work toward less tangible, but just as meaningful goals such as improving relationships with others, being more present in my life. Regardless of your goals, my job is to help you find ways to get there!

I help adults in Ohio navigate trauma, anxiety, and addiction with therapy that’s compassionate, practical, and rooted in science. Many of my clients are helpers, professionals, or parents who are used to staying strong for others — but inside, they’re anxious, burned out, or quietly struggling with past trauma or addiction. Therapy with me is both compassionate and practical. In our early sessions, we’ll explore how your body and brain respond to stress. Together, we’ll build coping tools and work toward deeper healing, not just symptom relief.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
