I imagine you are here because you are feeling lost, alone, and unsure of what to do next. You might be wondering whether you'll ever feel happy again, and utterly frustrated for feeling so low for so long. You are not alone.

Hi. You have tried so hard! You've gone to therapy, maybe even for years, but nothing has really worked. You’ve tried workbooks, followed instagram accounts, all of it. I’m at my best as a therapist when working with clients who have found traditional talk therapy helpful at first, but eventually, ineffective. Therapists are not magic, but you have the medicine inside you to heal yourself, from trauma, broken relationships, all of it. I love working with helpers, including fellow therapists, and folks who are ready to be their own healers.

From the outside, most people would think that nothing is wrong, but deep down you know that you're not feeling like yourself. In your daily life, you often pretend to be someone you’re not, all the while feeling anxious, panicky, or unhappy inside. This feeling can manifest itself through general anxiety, panic attacks, depression, anger, and other ways. You’ve tried to push those feelings away, or even bury them deep down, but over time they keep coming back, surfacing in unpleasant ways and it is having a negative effect on your daily life.

Let’s be honest you’ve spent a lifetime searching for yourself. You hear people talk about “living authentically,” but when it comes to actually connecting with who you are, you don’t even know where to begin. I get it. I’ve been there too disconnected, burnt out, chasing approval, and bending myself to fit everyone else’s needs. But you weren’t meant to live on scraps of validation. You were meant to live unapologetically without asking for permission, without shrinking back from your own desires.

At its best, therapy is a healing relationship. A central goal as your therapist is to understand you and with that knowledge, to help you understand yourself better. The world outside is often intense, overwhelming, and disheartening. Therapy can provide a safe space to explore how your life experiences have impacted your view of yourself, your relationships, and humanity itself. We each deserve to have the space to have our unique struggles and suffering taken seriously.

I specialize in helping people heal from narcissistic abuse and toxic relationships. I also help parents adjust their parenting techniques to the unique needs of their child(ren) or situation. This includes adjusting to conflict in the home, divorce, and issues surrounding gender and sexual diversity. I recently began working with an attorney to offer Family Court Empowerment Coaching to bridge the gap between the courtroom and your personal life, helping you to better manage your emotions, gain insight into the process, and communicate effectively with your attorney, the court, and your ex during divorce or custody proceedings.

I specialize in helping individuals, especially LGBTQ+ people, heal from the impacts of trauma. Using EMDR, IFS, ketamine assisted therapy, and other trauma-focused techniques, I work with clients for whom violence, family relationships, marginalization, and more, have shaped how they see themselves and the world. I'm trans, queer, disabled, and neurodivergent myself, so you won't have to "explain" your queerness in my room. I am creative and curious with my clients, and seek out innovative approaches so I can provide a space where you can be affirmed in your identity, and access the healing you need.

The common theme throughout my career has been relationship issues in all their forms and aspects... from managing boundaries, setting limits, developing clear and effective communication and interpersonal skills- to addressing intimacy issues and dealing with power struggles or problem resolution. Stress, anxiety and depression often result from how we are intertwined in the lives of others.Sometimes the solution may be to face and resolve issues - gain more support and nourishment. Sometimes we have to deal with the loss of a person who is very important to us. Using powerful tools to work through "unfinished business" will help you enjoy your life. Individuals and couples will learn to get more of what they need and want from their partner - as well as learning for themselves how to be a true loving partner. You don't have to struggle alone... learn what winning really means and how to do the "dance"!

Clients often work with me because they have experienced trauma/marginalization in their lives that holds them back from living in accordance with their deepest desires, especially as it pertains to the formation and embodiment of their identity. Oftentimes these concerns manifest as PTSD, anxiety, and depression. My work is focused on compassionately exploring and processing your stories to inform how you want to move forward by developing a greater sense of connectedness with your holistic being. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community although my approach has shown efficacy with clients outside these demographics.

I’m a marriage and family therapist who works with couples and individuals who feel stuck—repeating the same arguments, feeling disconnected, or struggling to feel secure in relationships. Many of the people I see are navigating depression, trauma, identity and intimacy concerns, family conflict, or major life transitions. I’m especially affirming of LGBTQI+ clients and bring a sex-positive, trauma-informed lens to our work. If you want deeper connection, clearer communication, and a relationship with yourself (and others) that feels steadier and more aligned, you’re in the right place.

I enjoy working with folks from most walks of life, those with body-based concerns such as chronic illness, chronic pain or difficult to diagnose physical symptoms using Somatic Experiencing and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Oftentimes, my work with folks includes an exploration of possible trauma history and early attachment/developmental disruptions affecting relationships today. I work in-person with Cincinnati clients and virtually with TN and NC residents. I have an office in Pleasant Ridge and Camp Washington, the latter where I see folks for trauma resolution intensives and KAP sessions.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
