I know life can be difficult at times. I want to help you find a sense of peace and well being. I enjoy treating couples/families that are dealing with conflict and/or trust and communication issues. I also assist women that are experiencing emotional issues and/or have experienced past trauma. I use a combination of emotional support, understanding, and empathy to assist with inner turmoil and relationship repairs. I hope to assist clients with finding a healthy balance between self-love and relationship health. I work for Catholic Charities, but I am not a faith based therapist. All clients, beliefs, and struggles are welcome!

Coming to a realization about the way you have managed life has not served you to your highest benefit. Now you're at a juncture where you are ready to change the deep-rooted beliefs that has stunted your personal growth. You are feeling there is something more to your life or at least hoping there is something more, but your old thinking patterns, behaviors and feelings are blocking your desired outcome. You are ready to no longer envision your potential but yearn to take the proper steps towards it but unclear how. It is time to do something different to receive something different. It is your time to evolve.

I believe that no matter how much we may want them to be, change and growth are not necessarily linear processes, especially during a healing journey. As someone with lived experiencing managing chronic pain and invisible illness, I recognize that these types of issues can pose unique challenges to our mental health, including anxiety, depression, stress, panic, guilt, shame, addiction, and trauma. They can cause stress on our self-confidence, autonomy, relationships, and more. I love supporting others who are navigating their mental health as they navigate chronic illness, but I'm also skilled with depression, anxiety, & trauma.

Change can feel scary and stressful. Standing at a crossroads can feel uncertain and overwhelming. Sometimes our life circumstances change, other times we decide that what we are doing now, is no longer working for us. My focus is working with people who are experiencing anxiety, depressed mood, grief, loss, addictions, trauma, PTSD, and other adjustments and life transitions. This could involve changes in relationships, family, spirituality, health, career, education, or living situation. It could include death, healing wounds and inner children, identifying and enforcing boundaries, and identifying and changing limiting beliefs.

Hi! I imagine you are here because things are not great. Perhaps, you would like to improve or change something, or maybe you just want to feel better or more comfortable in your skin.. I know it can be scary, but I believe it’s also brave. It takes courage to admit that you would like life to be different. I believe together we can get you to a place where life isn't so hard. During my 16 year career, I have been fortunate to have met wonderful people and together we have grown. I view the therapeutic process through a person centered lens and as something we do together. I believe it is important to celebrate the small successes.

Life seems to always be throwing challenges in our way. We find them in our relationships, our jobs, our past, and in all the life situations that seem relentless and overwhelming. I wish we could take away the challenges that are inherently part of being human. Instead, is it possible to navigate the realities of your life in a way that is lighter, more fulfilling, and even more joyful? No matter how unsurmountable your challenges are, do you know there is a better way for you? Do you know that all the answers you are looking for are already right there inside of you?

In order to love others, you must love yourself. In order to see others, you must see yourself. In order to strive for greatness, you must believe in greatness. We often seek what we lack, forgetting that we have everything within, as long as we have the mental and emotional stability to see it. It is the anxiety, the sadness, the distress, feeling unseen and unheard that serves as our blockers. These blockers impact our access to abundance. You deserve to feel your best, be your best, so let's seek your best now. What are you willing to do for your abundance, stability, and to live your best life?

You avoid phone calls and text messages from your friends, and at the same time you wish you could share with them everything going on in your head. I work with people who are trying to understand themselves beyond their trauma, their past, or the roles they’ve had to play to survive. Many of my clients are navigating the effects of PTSD, childhood abuse, family conflict, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or struggles with self-worth. Others come to me because they feel stuck in patterns of difficult relationships—whether with a partner, a family member, or even within themselves.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
