Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself? Maybe you’re navigating a major life transition, having difficulty processing moments of the past, struggling with relationships, setting boundaries, managing anxiety, or trying to reconnect with who you are after years of putting others first. Therapy can and should be a place to slow down, understand what you’ve been carrying, and begin creating meaningful change.

People often need support in navigating life’s challenges. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or stuck in patterns that aren’t serving you, you don’t need to manage it alone. I strive to create a safe, warm, and accepting environment where you can show up as you are and begin to explore your personal story. I believe we each have an innate capacity to heal and grow, and I consider it a privilege to support and partner with you along the way.

Life is a series of transitions. Even growth and positive changes require new skill sets and can be challenging to navigate. The process of counseling allows us to gain clarity about ourselves and our situation. It can be profoundly therapeutic to speak to someone who knows how to listen. The gains and insights achieved can be thrilling, but the process itself is hard work. I have been a Clinical Social Worker for 40 years in many settings. I have learned the nuts and bolts of chemical dependency, treatment resources and the path to acceptance of a mental health diagnosis.

Human connection requires emotional responses. Trauma and adversity can convince our brain to believe emotions are either good or bad and that there is something wrong with us. We do not have to minimize or define our emotions as good or bad to acknowledge or change them. Humans connect to other humans because we have the capacity to feel! Sometimes, emotions communicate that we are disappointed, hurt, sad or in need of connection. Sometimes emotions communicate love, honor, respect and care for others. Sometimes, emotions overwhelm us, and we need help to understand and manage them.

My ideal client is motivated and ready for change, even if they don’t know where to start. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma, and want to feel more like themselves again. Many are navigating life transitions—starting college, coming out, managing relationships, or adjusting to adulthood. They value a therapist who is supportive, honest, and culturally sensitive. Most of all, they want to feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow into a more confident, grounded, and authentic version of themselves.

I see an adult population and have extensive experience with geriatric and chronically ill individuals and their family members experiencing depression, anxiety and stress. Life transitions, multiple losses or unexpected changes in ones life can cause stress, depression and doubt as to how to move forward. Talking about this in an open and objective environment can help resolve trauma, heal emotional wounds and enable the individual or couple move forward in a positive manner. Let me know if I can help.

Everyone has experienced emotional distress at some point in his or her life. A good indicator of when it's time to seek professional help, is when stress becomes overwhelming and unmanageable. Recognizing that you need help is the first step toward restoring a healthy life balance.
