Hello and welcome! I specialize in working with women, college students, survivors of trauma, folks on the LGBTQ+ spectrum, and anyone facing stress around anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, boundary setting and relationship concerns. I specialize in working with ages 18-30. I value authenticity and transparency and believe the relationship in therapy is the key element to a powerful experience. Often, we are not getting our needs met out of fear or avoidance, and therapy is a great way to practice embodiment, taking space and being present as your authentic self.

My ideal client would present solution-focused with a desire to gain insight and understanding of presenting symptomatically and how those symptoms manifested. Their issues, regardless of being situational or organic, should be addressed directly with kindness and acceptance without judgement. The need should be to not only identify and address their current symptoms but also to work towards a more profound understanding of why such symptoms are present and how to create an opportunity for change. The goal should support a progressive change to improve quality of life.

Your life on paper (or social media) seems to check all the boxes. But deep inside, something is missing. Stuck, you're struggling to build the life you truly want. Maybe you've been coping with unbelievable stress at work or school, relationship issues, anxiety, or depression. Perhaps life has thrown you an unexpected detour, like a job loss or the end of a significant relationship. Things might even be going really well, but you know you have the potential for more. No matter what, you have an intuition you can't ignore; a voice inside telling you life could be more fulfilling. If any of this sounds familiar, I can help.

My ideal client would be someone who could struggle with any number of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, career issues, self-esteem, life transitions, and many more. My ideal client would be open to multiple methods of treatment and willing to try new things in and outside of the session. I would like to work with clients who are hoping to manage their symptoms, accept help, and be engaged in their healing. These individuals put in the work needed in and outside of the session and that helps with therapeutic progress.

The world has a funny way of pointing out all the ways we seem to fall short. This often leads to thoughts and behaviors that get in our own way of personal growth and self-acceptance. Let's work to identify and focus on your strengths, change unhealthy thinking patterns, tackle challenging decisions, maintain healthy relationships, cope with difficult realities, and heal from emotional pain. I celebrate your decision to consider counseling. It is a choice that is already evidence of your strength and courage. You are unique and so should be your therapy. I utilize an integrative approach to discover together what is best for you!

If I were to say if I had a type of client, it would someone that wants help. If there is a need for me to work harder than the person coming for the therapy session, then maybe they just might not yet be ready to address some of the deeper-rooted issues that led them to step out and ask for help. I know I try to remain more attuned and aware that the readiness to change is key to the success of therapy for a client. I want to work in tandem with the person to reach the goals they have set for themselves.

I can't say that I have an ideal client, as every client presents with their own unique set of strengths and challenges. I find myself drawn to clients whose lives have been significantly negatively impacted by the systems they belong to. Aiding clients with the tools and resources to work on breaking those generational cycles of trauma or poverty, is one of the most rewarding experiences I can have as a therapist. I truly believe that all clients have the ability to overcome whatever challenges they may be experiencing and achieve their personal goals. My only job is to help them develop the tools to do so.

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, or in a difficult relationship, therapy can help create more balance and renewed connection with others. Trained in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I use evidenced based practices to work with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and life transitions, as well as, couples and family therapy. My philosophy about therapy is that everyone needs to experience safety, confidentiality and feel understood in order to make necessary changes that can lead to more fulfilling life choices.

How can I find a therapist in 43221?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
