First Session is Free! Hello everyone! A little about me. First I am honest, dedicated, friendly and empathetic. I enjoy helping others in any way that I can. I am here to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive counseling environment. I want you to feel comfortable sharing your concerns/issues with me. I want to be open and share that I myself have used therapy as a coping mechanism. I lost my grandmother a few years ago and she raised me from birth. It was a difficult time in my life and I had a lot of trauma/grief/depression and anxiety. So I can relate. This is a judgement free zone and I am here to help you love yourself!

I believe in the healing power of a caring safe relationship. Together we create a safe space where you can feel your feelings without worrying about how they will affect others, where you can learn skills for coping with painful emotions and hard circumstances, and where together we make a plan so you can feel like yourself again. While I tailor what I do in counseling to your needs and goals, my goal is for you to feel more capable of living the life you want as a result of our time together.

I work with children and teens who are struggling. As a parent, you may notice your child feels overly sad, tired, unmotivated and withdrawn. Some have sleep changes and excessive worry. Others become irritable, argumentative, and have frequent conflict with peers and/or caregiver relationships. School grades may drop. Other problems may include extreme mood swings, self-harm, and aggression. Reactions may seem over-reactive or "melodramatic". Both children and caregivers become frustrated, angry, sometimes even hopeless. Sometimes both of you need support and guidance in meeting these challenges.

I can take the lead! I take a "person-centered approach" to therapy which basically means that I trust you to make the healthiest decisions for yourself that will assist in your growth. I have treated many other types of mental health conditions. I also have experience helping people with developmental disabilities and substance abuse issues. I liked to empower you to be all that you can be. I am good springboard for your thoughts and concerns. We can process any traumas from the past or present in sessions. I focus on a goal-directed treatment that addresses excessive worry, fears, and panic. As a believer of mind-body integration, I include exposure and response prevention methods with established cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based techniques throughout treatment. I have 9 years of experience working with adults living with HIV/AIDS. I am very familiar with the LGBTQ community. I'm very comfortable working with those who experience trauma, depression, and anxiety. Prior to working with adults living with HIV/AIDS, I worked with children for 7 years.
