I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with A Master's degree in Psychology. I have worked in the mental health field for over 30 years and have maintained a full-time private practice since 1994. I help adolescents and adults solve the tough problems they face individually as well as the challenges that arise in families, couple relationships, and in the workplace. I focus on solutions, strengths, and skill-building in addressing the sticking points in people's lives.
My style is gentle but direct and interactional. I frequently use humor to help bring perspective to the many difficulties people encounter in everyday living. My approach is supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental, and my goal is to collaborate with clients in the problem-solving process.
I am interested in helping people move out of unhelpful ways of thinking, feeling, and acting and discover how to create more satisfying lives.
My theoretical framework is eclectic, drawing from family systems, solution-focused, narrative, and cognitive approaches. I am also trained and certified to do EMDR and DBT.
