You may be feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, struggling to regulate your emotions, or navigating a life transition that has left you questioning who you are or where you’re headed. Anxiety, mood shifts, or a sense of disconnection from yourself can make it hard to feel grounded or confident in your next steps. I primarily work with teens and adults looking for support in reshaping those unhelpful patterns and stories, while building skills to move forward in ways that feel more aligned.

I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your OWN story! You deserve to live a life that leaves you excited to wake up every morning. You want to connect with someone who is real and can empathize with your experience. I am as real as they get! The first step, making a call to a therapist, can be the most difficult step of the entire process. Take a moment and a few deep breaths and call to see how I can help. Life is too short to be weighed down with stress, anxiety, or trauma from past experiences. You deserve to be free of emotional worries and able to create a life worth living.

TRAUMA: An overwhelming experience that is too much, too fast. If too stressed or truly overwhelmed, our natural survival responses can be blocked. If unable to complete our body’s survival responses, trauma can occur and often symptoms emerge. We can feel stuck in the fear of flight, the anger of fight or the depression of freeze. As one who facilitates healing from emotional, spiritual, and physical pain and suffering, I am dedicated to working compassionately, non-judgmentally and collaboratively with you to become "unstuck" and find a greater sense of healing and wholeness.

Clients come to therapy for a variety of reasons. They may need help adjusting to a new job, transitioning to a new city, communicating with a family member, or building self-confidence. They want to do these things in a timely manner. They want to live a fulfilling life. Maybe nothing is going on currently and they want to explore past events.

I work well with clients whom find it difficult to move through life transitions due to symptoms of anxiety or depression. Sometimes, when facing numerous adversities, this can make sustaining responsibilities and values very difficult. If you are feeling like there is an unexplainable void that prevents you from expressing freely your authentic self, then I am the right therapist for you. I thrive in an environment that assists clients in rediscovery of self through increasing mindfulness, purpose of life, and clarifying values that ignite commitment towards self-transformation.

Therapy is a place to seek out growth, understanding, and compassion toward yourself and others. And since everyone has a unique story, impacted by people and experiences both past and present, it is crucial that therapy is personalized. Whether you're working toward self-exploration, acceptance, change, or all of the above, we can find a path together. I will collaborate with you in assessing concerns and working toward growth, while providing support throughout your journey.

We live in a day that not only allows but encourages us to grind as hard as we can. The catch is, the outcome generally presented is stress, further leading to issues like anxiety and depression. One goal I have as a therapist is to help show perspective. I'm here to allow people to see themselves in a different light. Sadly, for some, past and ongoing trauma makes life even more difficult. Another goal as a therapist is to create a safe space to explore the past, and though I can't make it right, we can work on a path to help you grow.

Welcome! It could be that the thought of therapy is scary, and maybe you're thinking to yourself, "I never thought I would be here." I'm here to assure you that you don't have to face what you're facing alone. Guess what? Therapy is a completely normal and healthy thing to seek out. Many people do it every day! It would be an honor to work with you as you seek healing, balance, and harmony in your life and relationships. Far too often we try to put a bandaid on top of things that require some extra work. I would be thrilled to work with you as you face life, and be a resource that encourages self-care & self-compassion.

Life does not always come easy and can present us with very difficult challenges. These challenges impact our lives and often cause us to feel alone, ashamed, afraid, inadequate, overwhelmed and lead to isolation, withdrawal, risky behaviors, and decreased functioning in social, work, or other areas of life. Unfortunately, in our struggle to cope, our emotional and mental health needs have often been minimized, pushed down, or completely ignored. Therapy often helps us navigate these challenging times and attain more fulfilling lives.

It feels like you’ve been carrying all the weight. Walking alone. Struggling to keep moving forward. And feeling just plain tired. Getting through the day is harder than it used to be. Instead of enjoying the life that comes from your hard work, you feel isolated from family or look for comfort in the bottom of a bottle. You're restless, irritable, and tired of feeling like a failure and wondering what the hell is happening. You just want to feel happy, but anxiety, depression, and fear keep you tied up in knots. You want to be better for yourself and your family. It's time to be finished with that chapter. It's time to start fresh.

My passion is to help people recognize their inner strength so that they can reach their goals. I believe that by finding the intrinsic power that is within all of us we can experience renewed hope and motivation. I believe strongly in the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I work with clients to become aware of this connection and learn how to take control over their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the process. I hold my perinatal mental health certification and enjoy working with clients from the initial desire to start a family, and the challenges that might bring, through the postpartum period.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
