I am not conventional, stuffy, or judgmental. Not churchy. I work quietly and deeply. I work well with sensitive people troubled by their minds, feelings, and personal or societal unrest. I can help you set healthier boundaries with family, work, friends, and lovers. Although I will likely retire in 2025, I will see current and previous clients and a short-term new client or two. With a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and over 20 years of counseling experience, I can help you get through life's trials and tribulations. I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in stress, grief, depression, anxiety, suicide prevention, chronic management illness, crises management, as well as in coping skills in both adolescents and adults. My expertise is a combination of professional and personal skills that can help any person tackle unexpected life crisis. I have experience in couples counseling, family counseling, group counseling, and career counseling.

As one of a few psychotherapists in Memphis who is also AASECT Certified as a sex therapist, I treat a full range of sexual, relationship and intimacy issues. Sex is one of the deepest and most powerful experiences we have, yet it can also cause distress and embarrassment when it does not go smoothly. Compounding the problem, many have been socialized to feel uncomfortable with sex or haven't received accurate sexual health information. Many people struggle in silence with sexual dysfunction and others have erotic interests that might be considered unusual by some- any of the above can result in tremendous amounts of shame.

There is no substitute for compassion in the counseling relationship. I believe in a whole-person approach. This means that everything is relevant: family of origin, unwanted life events, current relationships, physical health and well being, and everyday coping challenges. I assist my clients with life transitions, grief, early childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, chronic pain, relationship challenges, and spiritual issues. I am a Licensed Clinical/Certified Social worker and licensed to practice in the states of Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. I love direct clinical practice and have missed providing clients with assistance on their journey to wellness and happiness. Having gone through several life transitions along the way, I love guiding others through that process as well. I enjoy working with both individuals and couples and have experience working with all populations including veterans and active duty service members.

I don't believe in the one size fits all treatment plan. I believe with challenge comes change. Facing the worst experiences of our lives or the worst parts of ourselves can seem almost impossible or unbearable. You don't have to carry the burden of your traumas. I believe in empowering my clients. We will work to together to create goals to become the best version of yourself. My personality is very laid back and I curse when I am passionate but it is always with love. I will always be honest and call you out when needed but I will also support you and cheer you on when your goals and show up for yourself.

I offer a wide range of services to help you write your story in a different way. Since graduating with a Masters in Counseling in 2014, I have worked in both private practice and community settings county jail and alongside several anti-human trafficking organizations to develop a unique approach to complex trauma recovery and healing. I work from a trauma informed perspective, which means that in therapy I commit to being: safe, trustworthy, transparent, collaborative, supportive and supported, consensual, and culturally humble.

I have many years of varied life experience including: having lived in Chad, Africa and Italy, raised a multi-cultural, blended family, went through divorce, step-children, life transitions and family of origin dysfunction.
