Meeting a new therapist is hard enough without worrying they are going to judge you for the things in your life that make you unique. I aim to be a therapist who works with clients who are afraid to take the steps to work on themselves because they fear their lifestyle, their desires, or the way their brain works will make it impossible to find someone who will hold space for them no matter what they say. Therapy is hard work and the last thing you want is to be inauthentic while doing that work! I hope I can invite every client to bring their authentic selves to my therapy room without any concern about how they are perceived.

Therapy is a journey, and while it is not always the easiest path to take, just showing up is half the battle. Your thoughts, emotions, and feelings will be validated and heard in a safe environment where you will be able to express how you feel and what you are experiencing. I am passionate about taking this journey with you, and I realize that life is not always easy, and we may feel like everything is falling apart, but it’s how we get back up is what matters.

Whether you are an adult navigating a difficult season or a parent concerned about your child or teen, seeking support can feel overwhelming. Emotional stress, behavioral challenges, and life transitions can impact not only the individual, but the entire family system. Many clients and caregivers reach out feeling exhausted, discouraged, and unsure where to turn next. I focus on creating a safe space where children can feel comfortable expressing what they may not yet have words for, teens can share vulnerable emotions, and adults feel understood and empowered. I also work closely with parents to strengthen family relationships.

Hello, I support women, newly married couples, and mothers in moving beyond overwhelm, anxiety, and emotional disconnection to create lives and relationships rooted in clarity, balance, and connection. Even when things appear “fine” on the outside, many people feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, navigating major life transitions, or struggling to set boundaries without guilt. I specialize in working with high-achieving women and couples experiencing burnout, dating and relationship stress, early marriage adjustments, and postpartum transitions, helping them feel more grounded, supported, and emotionally connected.

We live in a fast-paced world that rarely gives us time to slow down, reflect, and be intentional. I’m passionate about creating a space where you can do exactly that, a place to feel safe and understood. In our work together, we’ll explore your story and create space for the parts of you that may feel unseen, overwhelmed, or stuck. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, because healing looks different for everyone. Depending on your needs, I may integrate mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, or parts work to support your growth in a way that feels meaningful to you.

Have you been told "Just think happy thoughts." "It's just a phase." "Quit worrying so much." "It could be worse." "When I was your age..." "What you should do is..." "You should just pray about it." If all this "helpful" advice has not worked for you then maybe it's time to try counseling.

Are you feeling frustrated or overwhelmed by your child's difficulties? Are there times you struggle enjoying your relationship? Are you here because your child experienced trauma and you're worried about their healing? No matter your reason, play therapy can help and it's a developmentally appropriate evidence-based intervention. Children struggle to put their feelings and experiences into words. Instead, they communicate and express themselves in their play. Play therapy allows for children to process and heal their issues on their own terms.

Clarksville Counseling is a group of licensed and pre-licensed clinicians who work collaboratively to provide quality, client-centered care. Our pre-licensed therapists practice under supervision as they complete their clinical training, allowing us to offer a range of perspectives and approaches within a unified, supportive environment. One of the first questions we ask new clients is if they have ever been in therapy before. Unfortunately, many people have had a negative therapy experience in the past because they felt their therapist didn't "get" them or understand what they were really going through.

Someone who is ready to be open, honest, and vulnerable in the counseling process would be an ideal client. I understand that vulnerability takes time, and I will never push you to share more than you are ready for. Therapy is about meeting you where you are while supporting your growth at your own pace. Life is not a sprint or a race to the finish line—it’s a journey, and together we can navigate it one step at a time.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
