If you're neurodivergent, don't feel well, or have complex trauma, you'll get practical support and deep processing (when and how it’s right for you) to get through the hard stuff so you can live a life that actually fits you. This work is done oh, so gently and reverently to the actual reality of your life, and not what you “should” be. Everything changes when you don't have to constantly second-guess yourself or figure out if you’re crazy for feeling how you do. From sensory issues to trauma and grief, to feeling angry and misunderstood, we get it on a personal level and have tried to set up a gentle environment to support you.

Trauma expert Peter Levine stated, "Trauma is perhaps the most avoided, ignored, belittled, denied, misunderstood, and untreated cause of human suffering." At Be Found Counseling, we believe this whole heartedly. We see people, just like you, every day who come in asking the question, "why am I like this?" We know you want to live fully, without feeling the weight of anxiety, depression, overwhelm, hurt of the past and the struggle in the present. We know you want to heal. We know you want to feel whole.

Are you neurodivergent, Autistic, or suspect it? I imagine you may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and disappointed with life. You may even believe you're not good enough or feel alone. Perhaps you think everyone else is doing adulthood better than you. That's a tough place to be, and I want you to progress to a place that you feel happy, satisfied, connected, and proud! Being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world is not an easy journey, but it can be done. I know this, because I've seen clients and family go through it, and because I am neurodivergent myself. I would love to be alongside you as you bravely transform your life!

My interest in counseling was first awakened by the Nietzsche quote, “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.”
Moving from China to the U.S., alone at age 18, I experienced tremendous difficulty with the transition. I began to experience significant social anxiety and felt separated not only from my home country but also from the truest version of myself. Through therapy and self-reflection, as well as a focus on my “why” for moving, I found my way back to myself and to a more fulfilling life. This experience eventually led to a passion for helping others overcome difficulties and find a sense of purpose in their lives.

I believe we all deserve to feel safe, seen and connected. I specialize in working with children, teenagers, and parents. I have experience working both in schools and clinics while helping those with depression, anxiety and trauma. I also understand the challenges parents may face and believe they deserve to feel connected, seen, and heard. I know that we don’t always feel equipped to help when our child is struggling. When appropriate, I offer parenting-focused consultations to provide parents with the tools they need, free from judgement.
