Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, exhausted by the demands of parenting, or struggling to adjust to life's transitions. Some are navigating the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy, postpartum, or new parenthood. Some are navigating relationship stressors or seeking divorce support. Others simply want to feel more like themselves again. Therapy is not about "fixing" who you are. It's about understanding yourself more deeply, developing effective tools, and creating space for growth, healing, and meaningful change.

Life is challenging and learning to navigate it in a healthy manner is key to being happy. Are you just content or satisfied where you are in life or do you want to “reach for the stars” but life has taken the wind out of your sails? I like to meet people where they are and as a counselor help them reach where they want to be mentally. I believe my life experiences have shaped me into a counselor that connects with clients without judgement. Connecting to a counselor is the most important aspect of counseling because without a connection you may not feel comfortable being vulnerable.

I love helping couples and parents who feel stuck in cycles of conflict, disconnection, or overwhelm. Couples often come in struggling with communication breakdowns, trust issues, or emotional distance. Parents seek support when they feel unsure how to respond to their child’s behavior or are experiencing ongoing stress at home. I help clients move toward healthier patterns using an attachment-based, practical approach. I focus on improving communication, emotional regulation, and strengthening connection so couples and families can build more stable, supportive relationships.

You have it all together, but on the inside, you're exhausted, overwhelmed, and internally falling apart. You're the strong on. The dependable one. The one who keeps going no matter what. But underneath all of that, something is hurting, and you're tired of carrying it alone. Many of the women I work with are high-functioning, deeply caring, and used to putting everyone else first. They're not falling apart on the outside, but they're struggling on the inside. If that sounds like you, I want you to know: I see you, and this work is for you.

In my practice, I foster compassion and authenticity. I support each client to feel a new freedom: to choose how she responds to life, rather than feeling overwhelmed by emotions or stuck in unhealthy patterns. I practice attunement, awakening clients to the here-and-now as I invite them to slow down and move from the head (thinking about a problem) into their heart (being with their inner experience). I practice this way because it is how lasting change occurs. At a gentle pace, my clients engage in self-exploration no matter whether they're working through PTSD, addiction, anxiety, depression, mood or personality disorders.

Life is rough! Getting out of bed is a pain. You avoid the bathroom mirror because you hate who you see. Your child has expressed concerning thoughts. The breakup stings like bees. You're tired of your job. You're mad about the hours spent scrolling, rather than being productive. You can't relax when anxiety plays you like guitar strings. You think you're never good enough. Grief and loss has you feeling numb. You struggle with your faith and purpose in life. You want to be a better person, a better partner, a better caregiver. Listen, you don’t have to carry it alone. Healing is possible, and I’m here to walk with you through it.

I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Many come to therapy struggling with anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or a sense of disconnection from themselves or others. Together, we explore the experiences and beliefs that shaped these patterns while developing new ways of coping, connecting, and healing. Using approaches such as EMDR, EFT, ACT, and Narrative Therapy, I help clients build insight, strengthen relationships, and create lives that feel more authentic, meaningful, and aligned with their values.

Much like a tapestry, we are a collection of all of our life’s experiences and interactions, both good and bad. Sometimes we develop ways of coping that get us through the bad times but that eventually lose their effectiveness and no longer serve us. One of the greatest honors that I have as a therapist is being able to help my clients repair the tears and worn parts of their tapestry as they learn more about who they are, where they’ve been, and where they want to go while they simultaneously weave in better ways of coping and managing through life’s stressors.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step — especially when you're trying to make sense of overwhelming thoughts. Maybe things feel too heavy lately, or the world just seems like too much. You're doing your best, but it’s hard — and you're not alone in feeling that way. I specialize in working with children and teens who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and anger — whether that shows up as withdrawal, irritability, outbursts, or feeling overwhelmed. I believe in meeting you where you are and reminding you that healing is possible, even when it feels far away. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to start.

I love to work with people of all ages. I enjoy being there with clients and supporting them through whatever difficulties have brought them to seek counseling. I have helped people deal with ADHD, loss and grief, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, self esteem, parenting issues, communication, and just life in general.... I am a firm believer that at some point in our lives, everyone could benefit from counseling. Sometimes when you are struggling, you need a little help to figure out how to struggle better, and that is more than ok.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
