Family. Individual. Relationship. and Marriage Therapy - Sharing your thoughts and feelings with a complete stranger is a very unique, vulnerable decision. My goal is to help clients accomplish their goals in a space that is safe and comfortable - and I don't just mean quality of the seating, although my couch is an 8.5/10.

Welcome, I’m glad you’re here. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming. If you’re feeling hesitant, you’re not alone. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck, or just unsure of where to begin, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself. As a licensed associate working under supervision, I provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your emotions and begin to create meaningful change. One of the most rewarding parts of this work is witnessing those “aha moments”. When things start to click and you begin to grow in ways that matter most to you.

I love working with those who are ready to make a change in their lives. I think trust and comfort are the two most important factors when choosing a therapist. For real progress to happen, the therapist has to be a good fit for you. I think each client comes in with individual and specific challenges, meaning therapy has to be tailored to fit each client. I'd love to be able to take the time to figure out what is happening for you and what can be helpful in overcoming obstacles.

Sex is a normal, necessary part of human existence. Ideally, sex makes us feel happy, loved, and connected. Yet many people experience problems with sex including pain, lack of desire, or an inability to reach orgasm. Have you avoided talking to a sex therapist because you are afraid they’ll judge you? I will never judge you. Nothing you say is going to shock me, scare me, or make me stop working with you. Have you ever had a sexual encounter that was other than consentual but you didn't know who to talk to or even what to say about it? If so, I can help you work through your thoughts and feelings about sex and sexual experiences

Good things are on the horizons, and one meaningful way to move toward them is by embracing mental health counseling. Counseling offers individuals valuable support and guidance as they face life’s challenges, work through past experiences, and develop essential skills to maintain healthy boundaries in their relationships. This process can be especially helpful for those dealing with stress, anger, grief, anxiety, or depression, as well as for anyone seeking greater clarity and growth in their personal journey. Counseling is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It can be a truly transformative experience.

I love being a counselor because I understand how important it is to feel seen and heard. We’re all carrying around heavy things and it helps to have someone to help carry them at times. I provide a safe and judgment -free space to unpack whatever it is that you’re going through. Life can be really tough and I love helping people see their own strengths and potential so that they can cope with the tough times in the best ways possible.

It doesn’t matter how bad you think your story is, I’m going to try to help you with it, not judge you for it. I promise I’ll be patient and try to understand. I do my best to be a good listener. I hope you’ll find that to be true, and that you’re not going to feel judged when you walk through my door. The world I want to live in is one where we help each other get through the difficult stuff. I like trying to do my part. Some people find they don’t have a good person to talk to, or are unsure that anyone in their life will understand or accept them. If this sounds like your situation, please let me know.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step — especially when you're trying to make sense of overwhelming thoughts. Maybe things feel too heavy lately, or the world just seems like too much. You're doing your best, but it’s hard — and you're not alone in feeling that way. I specialize in working with children and teens who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and anger — whether that shows up as withdrawal, irritability, outbursts, or feeling overwhelmed. I believe in meeting you where you are and reminding you that healing is possible, even when it feels far away. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to start.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
