The clients I work with come to me with many concerns. These may have been going on for months or years or could even be immediate situations. People who are motivated to talk openly about the real depth of their issues or pain do best in therapy. I will give you the attention and support you need while I help you gain the tools you need to make changes in your life for the long term. I am highly interactive with my clients and believe that we are partners in the process towards better mental health, healing, and wholeness.
I work with different types of clients including those experiencing problems with: depression and anxiety; grief, loss and bereavement; domestic violence, rape, and incest; women's issues including lifetime changes, menopause, divorce, widowhood, and other women's issues; Pastoral Counseling and issues of faith/religion and questions concerning these; LGBTQ counseling of all types.
I don't have one way of "doing" therapy. Mine is largely Cognitive - Behavioral, we will decide and define your goals. These could be: "to feel better," building self-esteem, or, beating depression. I am also a certified supervisor in the state of Florida for the supervision of Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns.
