Book with me now by clicking on my website! I have always used a more integrative approach in order to fit the needs of my clients. At times therapy can be difficult, and it’s my job to help make the experience of introspection, self-discovery, and healing feel as comfortable as possible. I enjoy spending time getting to know you and the important people or things in your life, how you experience joy, and how you manage your troubles. I take a non-judgmental, holistic view of a person to better understand how different aspects of life interact and may contribute to stress.

There is no "ideal" client. Each one presents their own set of problems, goals, and obstacles or symptoms which need to be addressed. Most, in my experience, have tried on their own to do well, and solve these problems or issues and come up short. There can be a variety of reasons why. Some are theoretical, some may be factual. Thus, it is critical to get an accurate diagnosis of these, and discuss them with the patient. Usually, they want relief, support, and positive change, but are not sure how to achieve this. It's critical to assess, needs, strengths, shortcomings, to prioritize. Then, focus practicing skills, tools, resources.

Dr. Christina Tsonas Doro has over a decade of experience as a licensed psychologist working with individuals across the adult lifespan who are experiencing anxiety and depression. Utilizing a client-centered approach, she views therapy as a collaborative and individualized process in order to understand each individual’s unique life circumstances and goals for change. Given that people often seek therapy due to feeling stuck in patterns that move them away from the life that they want, she works with patients to increase awareness of these patterns and apply new coping skills to navigate the present day and build a valued life.

Therapy is not only for those with mental health diagnoses. It can be beneficial for individuals navigating life changes, building relationships, and improving coping skills. It is a process of exploration and growth, but it can be scary! I know because I have been on the other side of the desk. Trust can take time to build, and sharing your thoughts and feelings with a stranger isn’t always easy. I have the ability to make you feel at ease so that you can talk honestly and openly about the challenges you are facing in your life, Together we can develop coping skills and strategies to help you successfully navigate those challenges.

Even the strongest of us sometimes need help navigating our course through life. In our society, being "strong" often feels like a requirement. But true strength isn't about carrying every burden alone; it’s about having the wisdom to recognize when the winds have shifted and you need a new map. Whether you are a high-achieving professional, a dedicated parent, or someone who has always been the "anchor" for others, you deserve a space where you are the priority. At New Leaf Therapy, we provide that space and grace to help you find your footing during life transitions and challenging seasons.
