Sometimes life can feel like too much, like you're balancing your emotions, relationships, family, and personal needs all at once. It's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed or stuck, whether you're navigating things on your own or within a relationship. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to sort through it all by yourself. Many individuals and couples experience similar challenges—stress, anxiety, disconnection, intense emotions. The good news? Healing is possible, support is available, and you already hold more strength than you realize.

Hi, I’m Michele! I help moms navigating life transitions—whether it’s becoming a parent, sending kids to school, divorce, or rediscovering themselves after years of caregiving. My focus is supporting women with anxiety, perfectionism, and the stress of constant change. I also work with those healing from spiritual trauma or faith transitions, offering a safe space to process painful experiences and reconnect with what matters most. Together, we’ll build understanding, challenge maladaptive beliefs, and nurture self-compassion, and help you feel grounded, confident, and hopeful about the future.

Many of us have experienced traumatic situations which have left a negative imprint within us, and consequently feelings of guilt, shame, fear, anxiety, depression and despair. While we can repress the effects of these traumatic events and their accompanying symptoms; it will only be temporary, since failure to process these incidents will generate in us different types of emotional disorders that will rob us of our quality of life.

Throughout our lives, we carry within us the voices, the gaze, acceptance or disapproval, the expectations, and the praise or criticism of those who have raised us and occupied our lives. Therapy can help us discover and clarify these powerful experiences and grow in our understanding of how they motivate us, giving us freedom to make more authentic decisions in our daily lives. I view therapy as an opportunity to heal, receive support, solve problems, improve relationships, and escape problems and patterns that seem to reappear over time.

Hurting? In need of guidance and direction? In need of "real" therapy and "real" results or simply in need of counseling that works. For more than 30 years, I have had the opportunity to work with a multitude of cases and human behaviors that seek to hinder personal performance and individual capability. It is my desire to assist individuals, families, marriages and professionals holistically (physically, psychologically, emotionally, socially and spiritually) to achieve their GOD given potential.

You want to feel rested and energized, but you’re constantly plagued by insomnia, racing thoughts, sluggishness, and exhaustion. You hate the sight of your bed. It’s calling to you all day long! But at night, it’s taunting you. By 9PM you’re anticipating the battle you fight every night, and you just can’t do it anymore. Everything you’ve tried has been useless and you’re ready for a tranquilizer. Maybe you’ve already tried a tranquilizer and you hate feeling dependent on something for such a basic human need like sleep. You’re in a fight against your body, and you’re losing.

Do you always feel like you keep messing up? Keep making the same mistakes over and over again? Are wondering why you just can't get it right? I'm here to tell you you're not hopeless. You can do things differently to get what you want. But you can't keep doing the same thing and hope for things to change. Here's the truth: chances are you haven't learned the skills you need to have a fulfilling relationship where you feel heard and understood. Your disappointment and hurt show up as anger and rage. You've lived a life of settling for whatever fell in your lap and realize that's not going to cut it anymore.

Change is inevitable; no one stays the same in their life journey. I am passionate about helping others walk through the mountains and valleys in life growing stronger by building their inner strength. Each one of us has wounds and scars but they do not have to define who we are. I love working with individuals, couples, and families to draw on the positive qualities of each member in the family system in order to guide the family toward a more mentally healthier life. Connection is the secret ingredient to your overall well being. When we honor our pain by sharing it, we can heal it. Remaining silent can give power to the pain.

Are you a busy, overwhelmed mom trying to do it all? You feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and stretched too thin. Maybe you’re feeling more irritable, snapping at your kids or withdrawing from the people you love. You feel stressed, anxious, and unsure of yourself. Maybe you’re stuck in people-pleasing mode, experiencing panic attacks, or avoiding things you’d like to be doing. Do you notice patterns from your past showing up in your daily life, keeping you stuck in cycles of stress, anger, anxiety, and avoidance? Stress may be taking a toll on your body too. Maybe you’re struggling with hormones, headaches or digestive problems.

If you are having a difficult time dealing and would like to speak to someone to clarify your thoughts or figure out what to do next, it might be a good time to reach out for therapy. Life is difficult and learning how to cope with the ups and downs is important, especially if you have been diagnosed with a mental illness like depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, etc. or have suffered a loss or setback in your personal life.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
