I understand how chaotic and overwhelming life can be. I often work with clients who are struggling with overthinking, wondering what it will take to quiet their mind. I have experience working with teens and young adults from all walks of life but specialize in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, especially members of the transgender community. I have worked with individuals with anxiety and mood disorders, issues related to identity development, PTSD/trauma, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, grief/loss, and life transitions and adjustment concerns. I continue to provide Gender Affirming Care Letters of Support, despite many legal attacks on the transgender community here in Florida. I believe that everyone is valid in their gender identity, and no law can change the veracity of that.

I am passionate about working with children, teens, & adults who are experiencing symptoms of overwhelm/anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, anger, behavioral issues, ADHD, sensory processing issues, bullying, or low self-worth. I have been working with children, teens, adults, & families in various settings for 25+ years. Most of the clients I work with are between the ages of 3 to 13. The majority of the statements or concerns I hear are my child is very anxious, struggling with impulsivity, having anger outbursts, or is unmotivated. I also provide care and compassion for parents as they walk through this journey with their child.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Master’s Level Addiction Professional (MCAP), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) effective treatment for trauma. I have many years of experience providing therapy and support to clients with psychological, emotional, and interpersonal difficulties including clients with substance abuse problems and victims of domestic violence. I have a wide experience working with people who present concerns related to anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, relationships, and maladaptive behaviors.

I help by supporting you in identifying the "why" of how you think, feel, and act and we work collaboratively to move you forward in your goals. We'll discuss immediate coping skills to help you through the day-to-day and we'll do additional work to resolve larger themes that may be contributing to you feeling unhappy, anxious, or stuck.

My role is to challenge you when you’re stuck and keep you accountable, providing education and practical skills to use in daily life, and support you through the discomfort of change and vulnerability - and to celebrate the successes that follow.
