Life is hard and so is the journey that you are currently walking through. It is okay to let people in. It is okay to trust a few people and let them walk with you through whatever journey it is that you are going through. You do not have to be alone in your life transition, anxiety, grief, relationship, or marriage struggles. As you take this step into counseling, let me journey through this season of healing, growth, exploration and understanding together with you. You will have a judgement free and safe space to come and talk/work through past hurts, current struggles, and learn about yourself and what makes you tick.

Counseling has the potential to be the most frustrating group project that you will ever take on. I mean this sincerely. You have about 45-50 minutes a week to work through a lifetime of content, your partner does not “give you the answers,” and there’s no rubric that is handed out when you start. It is just you and another person trying to figure this life thing out, or at least that is how it looks.

PARENTS, TEENS, BIPOC and LGBTQ. It is so hard when you feel alone and hopeless or worried that your best isn’t good enough, especially, for the people that you love and care about. Life keeps changing and it is hard to keep up when you don't feel like yourself. These changes can be related to school, career, fertility, gender, sexuality, pregnancy, parenthood or caring for an aging relative. And the pain only grows when you can’t stop second guessing yourself, take that much needed break or friends and family don't quite understand.

Hey, I’m so glad you are here! I'm Jamie, an enthusiastic advocate for living well with connection, authenticity, and compassion. My hope in our work together is to create space for growth and healing on your path. My favorite healing tools and therapies are rooted in nature and accessing the elements we already carry within us. These days we are all the "walking wounded" and to keep moving though life, we must first see and accept our stresses, story, struggle, and sorrows. To access our natural state of inner peace, we can utilize internal or external supports- but you need to know what works for you.

"You can choose courage or you can choose comfort. You cannot have both." -Brene Brown. Do you want to be a better version of yourself? Let's face it, Life is hard. Relationships are hard. We all have a story. The people in our lives, or not in our lives, have helped to create that story. Engaging our story takes courage and helps to integrate our lives, this integration is what rewires our brain for healthy connection. Our stories begin to make sense as we link our past and present. By looking at our story we begin looking at the places in our lives where we have been harmed and we surprisingly find freedom, hope, and joy.

Life is not meant to be lived obsessing over our anxious thoughts, hating ourselves, and feeling overwhelmed on a daily basis. There is a version of life where you do not live in your anxiety, you love yourself, and you feel at peace. There is a possibility to find acceptance and fulfillment, despite the things you have experienced. Those struggling with self-esteem, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma- there is a release.

Counseling is all about having a space to explore yourself, your values, and your identity without fear of judgement or expectations. My therapeutic approach is based on viewing my clients as the experts on their own lives and accompanying them on their journey to wellness non-judgmentally and with competence. I believe in using an integrated approach, as every client is different, and it is important to meet clients where they are at. My goals as a counselor include assisting clients in reaching their full potential by giving clients a safe space so they may engage in self- discovery and growth.

COUPLES, FAMILIES and LGBTQ. I want you to have the interpersonal relationships you deserve and that you have always dreamed of. My approach to counseling is relational in it's focus. By nature humans are relational and interdependent. There is nothing more painful than broken or harmful relationships. While not every relationship can or should be mended, the pain caused can be felt for years to come and exaggerate or cause many forms of mental illness to include anxiety and depression.

There is something wonderful about growing older, especially in this profession. I have had a chance to experience many of the concerns faced by women in today's culture and to watch many therapy theories come and go. My experience has led me to recognize that therapy, healing and recovery are intensely spiritual experiences as well as individual experiences. Most importantly, each of us has our answers within. We can reconnect with those answers when we remember who we really are.

How can I find a therapist in 32750?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
