My clients are often having difficulty with managing experiences of abuse/neglect, trauma and lack of access to effective social support systems. These challenges often manifest as difficulty managing emotions, declining grades, difficulty adjusting to new environments, difficulty maintaining relationships that are important to them and with developing new relationships, as influenced by regression in social/emotional development that may complicate their transition into and through adulthood.
I currently work with Black, African American and other POC adults, many who identify as LGBTQ+ and/or are engaged in nontraditional relationships, providing support with managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, managing transition into adulthood (and college), and with improving challenging relationships.
I strongly believe that healing happens in relationship, and developing supportive, nonjudgmental and trusting relationships with my clients is always a priority in my practice. I look forward to working with you towards improving your ability to cope with the challenging situations in your life.
