Hello, my name is Allison and I want to start by acknowledging the immense courage it takes to seek help, especially when you're grappling with the weight of PTSD, anxiety, depression, or have patterns of toxic or unhealthy relationship dynamics. These are not just feelings; they are real, powerful experiences that can make you feel lost, broken, and completely out of control. My approach, Reality Therapy empowers you to build a life you want, right now. It is based on the idea that while you can't control what happened to you, you have a tremendous amount of control of what you do next.

Some seasons of life are especially stressful and challenging. During these times, it’s easy to feel stuck or unsure how to move forward. Change—whether within yourself, your relationships, or your circumstances—can feel overwhelming. Counseling can be a powerful catalyst for growth, healing, and clarity. I believe we all have the capacity to change and heal when we are supported and truly heard.

After a medical diagnosis most of the focus is on curing the patient. Medical teams often don't spend much time helping their patients adjust to a difference in their abilities or stamina, the stress on relationships, changes in appearance, or any of the many other adjustments people have to make. When treatment is finished it can feel like freedom, but for many it feels as if you've been dropped. No one wants to talk about what you've been through or they expect you to be "all better" just like before. This can leave someone feeling hollow and broken. It doesn't have to stay that way.

Are you an exhausted caregiver struggling with burnout, anxiety, or emotional overload?
You’re the dependable one—the parent, partner, adult child, or professional who keeps everything running. You anticipate needs, manage crises, and make sure everyone else is okay. But inside, you may feel chronically overwhelmed, emotionally drained, irritable, or disconnected. Caregiver burnout is real—and it often hides behind high-functioning anxiety and perfectionism.

Healing doesn't have a "one size fits all" option, and it isn't a linear process. The truth is: healing is often very messy. It’s digging up all the crap from dirt that feels so dry and cracked that even a shovel doesn’t seem likely enough to break through the surface. Sometimes it's allowing yourself to sit in the suck of life. Sometimes it's working through tough emotions. Sometimes it's sorting through deep-rooted core beliefs. But despite all the hardships that can come with healing, there's also much beauty that can be found in your journey.

I am and EMDR Clinician, Consultant and Trainer. Connecting with your Counselor and feeling safe and free to open up is the most important piece in the therapeutic process. We will all go through painful seasons in our lives. Having a safe, non-judgmental support person is vital during these times. I often compare my role as a therapist to being a midwife. We are all pregnant with possibility, but sometimes life is tough and messy, just like birthing babies. I can't do the deep breathing, pushing, and labor for you. However, I am here to roll up my sleeves and assist you while providing a safe, judgement-free space where you can give birth to your best life.
