You deserve to live a life in which you feel happy about waking up in the morning. Do you find that in your life, you are dealing with difficult people? Have you been hurt by loved ones playing the victim, and still focusing their anger on you? Leaving you asking what you were doing to make them feel this way? Sometimes this is the case when in a narcissistic partnership. They use gas-lighting as a means of coercion and power. If that sounds like something you have seen or are like, I can help. Have you experienced anxiety or depression during stressful life situations? Have you ever thought like someone you love is mistreated?

You woke up again this morning feeling empty, depressed, and anxious about your life and future. The pain of losing your companion twists you up in a ball as you pull the sheets over your head. It would be so much easier to stay there all day, hiding from the world. Except then you’d be alone with your thoughts. And that’s been a total nightmare. There’s nowhere left to hide. The suffering is waiting for you everywhere you turn. Your partner was your everything. How will you navigate this world without them? Everything is different with your loved one gone. You hate this feeling but wonder how you can ever change it.

Everyone has a story, and quite often our stories contain certain events and relationships that lead us to unwanted ways of living and coping to over come the pain and missing elements. There is a reason why we do what we do. Yet, there is hope for transformation no matter how dysfunctional and longstanding our issues may seem. I have a passion to help individuals, teens, and families experience wholeness and freedom.

I have a passion for helping people move through their individual seasons of life. I enjoy providing a space for clients to explore how their life experiences, both past and present, are influencing who they are and how they can move forward with living a life with purpose. Bringing awareness to change is an opportunity to investigate personal grow and evolve regardless of your ‘season’, which can be overwhelming when we want to feel heard and supported. While working with me, I will strive to collaborate with you and provide empathy, honest communication, and support in the therapeutic process.

Have you been told that you need to work harder or be more committed to therapy in order to make progress? That if you would just not be 'resistant', then you would make progress? I believe that if you're faithfully going to therapy and not making progress, it's very likely that you're working on the wrong thing. Instead of figuring out and addressing the root of the problem, you're likely trying to deal with the symptoms of the problem. Like treating cough and congestion when you really should be dealing with the pneumonia that's causing those issues.

Being a teenager has never been harder. You are a brave, courageous person. Depression and anxiety are no joke. These are statements I make everyday in my office to validate the very legitimate concerns my clients bring to me. It may be cliché to say it is an honor to walk alongside my clients as they walk and talk out their issues, but the funny thing about clichés is that they are based in truth. I have the best job in the world...

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
