I have a few mottos: 1. Life is the sum total of our choices. You want a different outlook or take on 'YOUR' life then make different choices. 2. Whatever 'YOU' think 'YOU' can or can't do-'YOU'RE' right! (H. Ford) and 3. Iron Sharpens Iron. This all totals: If you put good work into 'you' then all the good things will work together. The mind is likened to any other muscle, and it must be strengthened. And like a body in good physical condition, it has the ability to last longer and be stronger. The same is true of the mind & your choices. Let's start the manifestation today.

Motto: "Its okay to not be okay." "Everyone needs a listening ear." We all need help from time to time. I envision my practice as a mental health community where all people are capable of change. Far too often, people are seen as deficient and lacking what it takes to be healthy and happy. I understand that everyone is unique and different and that people are shaped by their experiences and circumstances. You are the expert in your life and I am just here to assist you. You have the answers within you.

I am inspired working with clients who are committed to bettering their mental health and to personal growth, even if feeling stuck. What happens to an individual rarely happens within a vacuum, and a more complete context provides better understanding of how we grow, develop, suffer and change. During moments when hopefulness is dim, we need someone to hear us, to see us, and to believe in us. Each of us is capable of living lives of significance when we embody a true sense of hopefulness. Living a life of significance is a personal and humbling journey marked by having the courage to face our fears, listen clearly, and understand.

Hi I’m Dr. Seyi Amosu. I'm a therapist with a background in community organizing. In other words, I am a co-conspirator in change. I help people re-connect with their curiosity, intuition, and imagination. Therapy is a process of coming home to yourself: connecting with your intuition, growing trust in your instincts and developing compassion for your emotions. Together we ask the question: how can you get free? As a therapist, I focus on changing clients’ relationship to their problems. Together, we identify patterns that reinforce pain internalized from the outside world and discover opportunities for agency.

I’m a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) Candidate who helps men struggling with compulsive sexual or porn behaviors, shame, and disconnection. Many of the men I work with are Christian and feel torn between what they believe and what they keep doing in secret—successful on the outside, stuck in cycles they can’t control on the inside. They want freedom, honesty, and real intimacy—not quick fixes. Whether faith is central to your story or not, we’ll get underneath the behavior and build a life rooted in integrity, connection, and purpose.

Our bodies are naturally trying to heal. Persistent mood symptoms are often linked to Healing and Growth processes to which our bodies largely default without our intent. Our experiences and backgrounds may serve to frustrate or otherwise impact these processes. Therapy can help clients identify their particular operating styles regarding healing from trauma or losses, and identify how to deliberately support improved mood management and make room for healthy grieving, adaptation, and Hope.

Life is undoubtably complicated, and relationships can be difficult to navigate. Maybe you feel anxious, angry, overwhelmed, tired of people-pleasing, or feel like you’re “never good enough.” Or perhaps you’ve experienced a great trauma or loss and are unsure of how to navigate your new reality. If any of those statements resonate with you, I would love to help you process your experience and learn how to better understand yourself and connect with those around you. Together, we’ll look at the patterns that have helped you survive, even if they’re no longer serving you.

This is your space to breathe, unpack the pressure, and remember who you are beyond the hustle. Therapy is not about fixing you; it's about giving you tools to move through anxiety, overwhelm, and self-doubt so you can show up for your people and yourself with clarity and peace.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
