As a Licensed Professional Counselor, it is my goal to help individuals and families identify areas for positive change and growth in their lives. My approach is holistic where a variety of modalities are used including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness based Therapy, Positive Psychology, Psychodynamic Therapy, Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) and others.

I'm a multilingual Mental Health Counselor who works with English, Portuguese, and Spanish populations. As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and National Certified Counselor, I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with mental health concerns impacted by disabilities and chronic health conditions. My mission is to support my clients and their families to improve their quality of life by practicing an integrative approach and viewing individuals from a holistic perspective.

Throughout my years of studying Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I've gained experience working with a wide range of clientele. From high school students struggling to achieve academic goals, to couples wanting to strengthen their communication and emotional understanding, as well as families that are trying to navigate challenging situations, every person who comes to therapy is unique and deserves to be treated as such. I strive to create a comfortable and supportive therapeutic atmosphere so we can work collaboratively on the topics that have brought you to counseling.

Counseling can help identify causes of depression, anxiety and resolve other problem areas in your life. My approach to counseling is tailored to each client's specific needs and collaborative. Establishing the therapeutic alliance is key to helping you move through and change maladaptive thought processes and build your confidence in making sound choices. My counseling perspective is to respect each client's distinctive life journey and personal narrative.

Thank you for considering me as your therapist. Finding or reaching out to a therapist for the first time can be intimidating, but I'm not. I'm honored to be able to work with you and I have a genuine desire to help. I have a primarily psychoanalytic orientation, although I use other therapeutic methods and techniques as needed. I work with family of origin issues, trauma, depression and anxiety, adjustment issues, addiction and relapse (post-rehab), PTSD, and with family of narcissists or those with borderline personality disorder. I welcome the chance to get to know you and talk to you about your goals.

Whatever circumstances you are coming from, I am here to validate your experience with non-judgmental support. I work with adolescents and adults who struggle with many different issues, including relationship problems, low self-esteem, adjustment difficulties, and identity exploration. I began my career as a therapist at a counseling center where clients focused on recovery from sexual abuse, which led me to develop a passion for helping clients heal from traumatic experiences.

I have over 15 years of experience treating children, couples and families using an integrated approach based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems theories. My primary interests are in communication, self-expression, self-esteem, anxiety and behavior problems. I served as the Student and Associate Chair of the Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists from 2009 -2012. I am the founder of Adaptive Therapy Counseling Group, LLC in Lilburn and Alpharetta, where I have treated individuals and families suffering from eating disorders, anxiety disorders and mood disorders for over 10 years.
