In 1996 I graduated from Fordham University, Graduate School of Social Services, NY, NY, with a Masters of Arts Degree in Social Work. I am currently a Licensed Independent Social Worker, Clinical Practice in South Carolina, as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina. I am able to serve a wide range of clients ranging in ages from 10 through and including the elderly. I believe that when treating minor children, the family be actively involved in the sessions. Individual, family, couples and group sessions are all areas in which I have experience.

It is hard being a parent. It is even harder when your child is experiencing social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. As an experienced professional school counselor and licensed professional counselor associate, I assist children, adolescents, and young adults with their mental health needs. I am here to listen free of judgement and to support you and your family. I strive to provide an environment that is safe, compassionate, and encouraging.

I have had the good fortune to work in many clinical settings; schools, mental health clinics, oncology offices, military bases and hospices. This has allowed me to assist individuals of all ages and backgrounds who are dealing with complex issues and circumstances. In each encounter with a client, I bring commitment, curiosity and compassion to the helping process with the goal of accessing the individual's innate strengths and resources to restore and foster their emotional, physical and spiritual well being.

I have helped clients overcome difficult issues from their past and/or present; find freedom from unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors; and go on to live fuller, more rewarding lives as a result. I believe that professional counseling can help provide psychological and emotional healing, as well as spiritual wholeness. Hello, I am Jim Bennett ,Counselor. I have compassionately worked with families, couples, individuals, teens and groups for over 29 years. I have worked with these clients in a private practice setting and in an addictions treatment center setting. I have accomplished Masters Degrees in both Counseling and Clinical Psychology. I studied both disciplines to equip myself for assessment as well as treatment . I became a counselor to help teens navigate their way into adulthood. I quickly found that the family is where it all starts. Therefore, I focused on family/marriage counseling. From there I branched into addiction counseling.

I have extensive experience working with individuals who experience trauma, depression, and anxiety to help them live without fear and sadness running their lives. Sadness and fear do not have to be daily emotions. Things happen in our lives that create uncertainty for what the future will be like. Happiness, inner peace, and feelings of safety are things we all deserve. Therapy is about finding solutions to help you improve areas of your life that you are struggling with. Therapy can also help you process traumatic events that have happened in your past or present, resulting in feelings of depression and anxiety.
