Hello! I’m glad you are looking for someone to talk to about what’s going on. For more than ten years, my clients have shared they enjoy my insights and unique approach to therapy. Anxiety, panic attacks, depression, trauma, relationship issues, brain fog, focus issues, and personality disorders are the issues I work with the most. I combine cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills and psychoanalysis to facilitate change. We will develop specific goals to serve as our road map. My approach is based on modalities that support change. I believe a deep self-awareness can bring us to our best selves.

What is confusing can be understood. Trauma and loss can be transformed. Relationships can be healed. It's not magic; it's the science of psychology. I provide a safe place for you to explore, understand, and become your best self. Together, we will listen deeply to understand the issues that are keeping you stuck in self-defeating patterns, causing you distress, and blocking joy. When you become aligned with your authentic self, you will enjoy more ease, connection, and flow.

Therapy is a tool that helps us to identify when our past is influencing how we see, feel, or respond to the present moment. Our emotional history plays a huge role in our present lives. It impacts our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and creates the patterns we fall into. It shapes the partners be become and the partners we pick. It becomes a weight we carry into our future. Life is a winding road full of MANY transitions. I believe the space a therapist holds should provide a consistent, nonjudgmental, and protected space to unpack what you are carrying.

I have an unusual background for a psychotherapist. Before I started my counseling career, I worked as a TV news reporter, an online media executive, and an adjunct college professor. This diverse experience in journalism, business, and education has given me valuable skills that I use in my counseling practice. My sense of humor is another important part of my counseling style. I take my work with clients seriously, but there are times when therapy needs to include some humor. I also offer life coaching for clients who want to make some changes but don't know where to start.

As a Psychotherapist or Life Coach, our collaboration is rigorous, productive and fun. Often I ask questions, implement exercises or give homework with some outcomes in mind. Starting therapy can be a little scary. I am aware of the anxiety someone feels making that first phone call or walking into the office. My goal is to set you at ease, make you comfortable, and with time build a trusting relationship.

You don’t want to get divorced, but this life won’t do either. You love your partner. You really do. BUT …You crave more inside jokes and fewer misunderstandings. You miss warm hugs instead of the cold shoulder. You’re ready to tally each others’ celebrations, not criticisms. Hell, you’d settle for remembering why you liked each other at the start. I laughed at an instagram reel that said, “why were they teaching me square-dancing and how to play ‘Hot Cross Buns’ on the recorder when they should’ve been teaching me how to do my taxes?” and honestly same …but also…couldn’t they have added one little class about healthy relationships?
