My practice name sums up my view that every person has the power to heal themselves and problems are simply symptoms of things that are going on. I specialize in child, adolescent and family therapy and have training in a variety of modalities. As such, I tailor my approaches to best meet your needs (CBT therapies, art and play therapies, behavioral approaches, social skills, EMDR and trauma techniques). Therapy, in its truest sense, is not about comfort because it is never easy dealing with some of our areas but my goal is to make the process supportive and safe.

I believe in talk therapy as a way of healing. I will work with you through your anxiety, depression, life changing situation, and or relationship issues. Let's work together to improve your life and handle your personal situation. Counseling is not long term. The goal is to help you find a solution and work on solving the issue.

Our world is ever-changing, and we live in a society that can make every day a challenge. I am here to try and help make those days, and all of the days that follow, better for you. I take pride in being genuine, non-judgmental, open-minded, tolerant, patient, respectful, supportive, and honest. I will strive to build a positive therapeutic relationship with each of you, and to do all that I can to help you reach your goals.

After 20 years in practice, I have seen the number of individuals, couples, and families seeking Transgender-supportive therapy grow so immensely that I determined to make this area of need my priority. With clients dealing with Trans* issues, I address concerns such as internalized and cultural Transphobia, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relational challenges. I provide narrative-based gender therapy for clients struggling with gender dysphoria. Clients seeking referrals for cross-sex hormone treatment and gender-confirming surgery are connected to medical colleagues of mine. I also assist with supportive networking and with navigation through the legal process of transition.

True counseling creates a relationship between the client and the counselor; a relationship of mutual respect and trust. With the right counselor this relationship can be life-changing. My approach is unique. My office space is cozy and inviting, just like your very own living room. Also, I believe in being down to earth and straightforward with my clients, and in working with them to bring about true healing.

I use a cognitive approach with adults to understand our emotions and their influence on our behavior. Personal history with family and life experiences influence our thinking, and also personal relationships. I see children and use play and art to help them express the emotions they can not explain.**Parent involvement is required to support the children. I apply my Christan Faith to all my counseling work. I believe we are all Wonderfully Made by a Creator, God. These Biblical principles help us focus on understanding our human experiences in relation to our world and others in it. I am a Splankna practitioner.

Being able to help others has always been a passion of mine. My educational and professional experience has allowed me to create a broad variety of specialties. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Central Florida in 2004. During my stay, I was able to work with specialty organizations that focused on equality and activism for groups such as LGBTQ+, military support, and women's rights. The following year, I was able to dive deeper into the complexities of systems theory while at Nova Southeastern University.
