Have you ever looked in the mirror, saw the person staring back at you and realized that you don't know what that person is? Or that you just don't like them? Have you ever felt like you were living in a body that wasn't yours? Have you felt the anxiety that comes from being in a public space, unsure of how others will perceive you or if you are even safe, or the hopeless fear that you might never be truly happy with yourself? Finding a safe space and an affirming therapist to talk about and process these feelings with can be extremely difficult. I'm proud of you for taking that first step and hopeful that I can help.

At Timeless Therapy, I work with individuals, relationships, families, and systems seeking trauma-informed, creative, and affirming care. I specialize in complex trauma, dissociation, and DID, offering space for parts, identities, and internal worlds to feel understood. I’m an enby, LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician who uses narrative work, gaming, and experiential methods—not bland CBT worksheets—to create real change. I’m currently completing my DMFT, and my therapy dog Zuko is always by my side.

Do you need help navigating a particularly tough time in life? I believe that therapy can provide a space for individuals to safely and openly explore problems of any kind. My goal is to collaboratively work to create a comfortable and supportive atmosphere in which we can gain a better understanding of your problems, which can often lead to new insights about how to approach it. Finding the right therapist is often a frustrating process that takes some trial and error. But when we're able to find the right fit, it can make a difference. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have to see if we would be a good fit for one another.

Ready for things to change? Tired of feeling stuck in cycles in your relationship, moods, behaviours? Have there been events in your past you'd rather not have replay in your head over and over again? A sense of security, meaning and control is probably what you're looking for. In therapy you (and your partner and/or family members) will learn how to use many methods (including self-hypnosis) to speed up the process of gaining new insights and to reinforce your resolve to enact change in your life, as you choose. You remain entirely in control of your experiences. I also offer supervisory services for LPC-A and LMFT-A therapists.

I believe in empowering you to handle the waves of emotions that come from healing from trauma & grief. I utilize DBT, CBT & ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) to help you build skills & overcome your fears, manage day to day stress, depression, anxiety, and panic. Wouldn’t it be awesome to be free of the fears that keep you from living your best life? You want to feel lighter & less stuck by the things that make you sad or scared. Afraid if you talk about them, you’ll open that door & you'd be overwhelmed. You’re unsure how to handle small day to day problems, much less releasing the floodgates of your past.

Hi there! My name is Ann Kent, LMFT. I work with all ages (7 and up), but love middle & high school aged kiddos and young adults dealing with anxiety, life transitions or grief. I want clients to be able to learn about themselves, heal from anything in their past or present, and grow into whomever they want to be in the future. I now have two therapy rooms at my office location, one for play therapy and one for talk therapy. Clients have the option to choose which room that want to use for each session - I am a firm believer that sometimes you just need to lounge in a bean bag over a couch. You get to decide!

Life can reach a point where things start to feel heavy and disconnected. It’s easy to get caught in survival mode—holding everything together while something underneath starts to give. Grief, trauma, burnout, or major transitions can leave anyone feeling unsteady or unsure of what comes next. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, make sense of what’s been happening, and start to rebuild with clarity and support. It’s a place to pause, breathe, and find your footing again.

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
