I was inspired to name my business SPEAK counseling services because I truly believe that untreated mental health and substance abuse dependence stems from our inability to understand how it is our mind, emotions, and body is trying to speak to us. Since mental/emotional pain is a foreign and misunderstood language we often lean on behaviors that sooth It quickly (e.g addiction, avoidance, fighting, fawning) these responses ultimately increase symptoms anxiety/depression as the pain/discomfort is never truly managed. Therapy with me focuses on learning to translate the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Most people don't come to therapy because life fell apart. They come because they've been quietly holding it together for too long and something finally gave way. Maybe it's anxiety that never fully lets up, a loss you haven't let yourself grieve, a pattern you keep repeating despite knowing better, or a relationship with substances you're not sure how to talk about honestly. Whatever brought you here, I'm not going to ask you to have it figured out first. You just have to be willing to show up.

Greetings, to better serve you, please get in touch with me via email. Just hit the Email Me button. Looking forward to connecting. Welcome. I am LinTiya McCleary, LPC, LCMHC, Love & Light Counseling owner. Living in a society where you live by everyone's standards except your own is mentally debilitating. You may be anxiously trying to be accepted into a society that looks negatively on your values. You may be depressed by constantly seeking validation. Your personality may be enticed by distorted thinking, and you may be facing an identity crisis. No matter your challenge, you have found someone who can help you be your true self.

Seeking therapy takes courage, and my first priority is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected—without judgment. I believe healing begins in relationships, and our work together will be collaborative, honest, and centered on what you need most. With over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, I understand that life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma, or major transitions take hold. I help clients slow things down, make sense of their experiences, and develop practical tools they can actually use outside of session.

You’re exhausted with trying to live up to everyone's standards. Your partner, your kids, your parents, your work. You feel like you can't get it right and you're just trying to keep it all together. You want to show up better for yourself and your family, but lately just getting through the day is a win. Your inner critic is loud and overpowering, pointing out flaws in yourself every day. You find yourself getting snippy with your family and playing back past frustrations in your head over and over again. You want to be your best for everyone but most days you’re too exhausted. You crave a sense of peace and rest.
