There are times when life feels overwhelming and out of control. Many of us have grown up believing that asking for help is a sign of weakness, but I encourage you to reconsider that idea. In truth, allowing ourselves to be vulnerable—to admit when we’re struggling and to reach out for support—is one of the bravest things we can do. I have seen firsthand how people who have endured years of trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges can go on to build lives filled with meaning, joy, and peace. They discover new purpose, nurture healthy and loving relationships, and, perhaps most importantly, rediscover their own laughter.

Everyone goes through hard times. Whether this is your first time, or it feels like it has been a lifetime, I specialize in helping adults who have found challenges like anxiety, depression, substance use, or trauma (often a combination) to be sources of pain and suffering. I come from a place of understanding, not judgment. Being able to feel safe, heard, and understood are important parts of creating positive change and healing. I partner with you to create the goals you want to see come from our work together, and I use evidenced based methods to help you move forward in those directions.

If you’ve ever felt like you don’t quite fit in, have been bullied, or left therapy feeling unseen, you’re definitely not alone. My practice is all about supporting people who feel like they don’t belong to any one group or don’t fit the usual mold—whether that’s because of anxiety, being neurodivergent or an introvert, cultural or racial identity, or anything else that makes you unique. I’ve been on my own healing journey, so I know how important it is to be truly heard. I focus on building real connections, helping you spot what’s causing stress or anxiety, and shining the light on the cracks where we create space for change

I have been a LCSW for 38 years, providing psychotherapy. I still enjoy seeing people better understanding themselves, and getting to the point where they see more of what they want in their life. Many clients have spoken of my authenticity, which allows them to be comfortable in themselves. I work to empower people so they can feel more capable in accomplishing their needs and goals.

Parenthood can leave you feeling stuck in survival mode. You may find yourself struggling with birth trauma, NICU stays, postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, or just struggling with adjusting to the ways your life has changed. Maybe you can't get off the hamster wheel of no sleep, poor self-care, frustration, irritability, exhaustion, raw emotions and resentment. This can put strain on your relationships with others, your baby and yourself. And it can be hard to ask for help while also learning how to care for a little one (or two).

This quote by an unknown author resonates with me as I think about my work as a therapist, "I understand if you have not felt safe enough or energetic enough or ready enough to feel what is in your heart. Sweet one remember, you cannot delay it indefinitely." I know there isn't always the time, money, or energy to deal with our emotions or past trauma. Inevitably, we become exhausted by trying to push down our feelings, or at times our emotions overwhelm us and come out in ways that are harmful to ourselves or others. Facing your emotions can be scary, but you don't have to do it alone.

I help women and men who are exhausted from being “the strong one” finally find space to breathe, heal, and feel supported. My ideal clients are navigating major life transitions, relationship stress, anxiety, or old wounds that still show up in their daily lives—often as overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Are you tired of carrying everything alone? Do you want and need clarity in life? Are you seeking emotional balance, and confidence to trust your own voice again. Through EMDR and a warm, I guide clients in breaking old patterns, healing what still hurts, and creating a life

I have immediate availability and evening appointments available. I work to empower others to recreate themselves. Most of us want to live a healthy and fulfilled life and I believe that we all have the ability to do that. Life is full of challenges. Some of those challenges are the result of our own decision making or the impact of relationships we have had, and others just happen. Regardless of the cause, these challenges often have a lasting impact.

You don’t fall apart, you push through. You handle what needs to be handled and keep showing up for others, often at the expense of your own needs. Over time, this can leave you feeling depleted, restless, and disconnected from yourself. Many people describe feeling like they are functioning on the outside although they're running on empty. This often shows up as difficulty being present in relationships, a sense of chronic tension in the body, and a pattern of attuning to others so much, you lose touch with your inner signals. Therapy can help you with slowing down, reconnecting to yourself, and finding new ways of relating.

Do you find yourself acting in ways that don’t align with who you are? Maybe you’ve said you’ll stop doing something, only to find yourself continuing anyway, or you don’t fully understand why you react the way you do. These behaviors aren’t random. They often develop in response to trauma, stress, or experiences that shaped how you learned to cope. I specialize in helping individuals become more curious about their inner world so they can understand these patterns, respond differently, and ultimately feel more grounded and in control.

My clients are ready to do the work. They may not have all the answers but they’re willing to ask the hard questions. Many are navigating anxiety, depression, relational challenges, or a deep sense of feeling stuck and unmotivated. They want to feel seen, heard, and empowered, not just to manage symptoms but to truly understand themselves and create lasting change. Most of all, they want to reconnect with who they are, rebuild their confidence, trust their own voice, and move forward with intention and courage.
