My goal is to provide you with a safe space to grow and learn about yourself while letting go of what doesn't serve you, and making space for the things out of your control. The first step in reaching out for support can be a scary one, but you don't have to take on the rest of the journey alone. I believe that therapy is a partnership built on trust, and though change may be difficult, it can become a little easier to cope with, with the right set of tools and support.

So, you want to know a little bit about me, I suppose. You can share your story with me later! One question I get asked a lot is how and why I chose this career. Here's the backstory: I knew that I wanted to be a therapist as a young child, but as it sometimes happens, life had an alternate plan for me and took a slightly different course for a while. Yes, I am also a person that had to take the long way to get to my dream of supporting people on their journey.

Have you ever told people that you had a "normal" childhood and you believed it at the time? But now that you are a little older, you are seeing some cracks in that version of normal? Or a recent trauma may have shaken your identify and agency in the world and you find yourself struggling to pick up the pieces. Perhaps you are starting to make connections about how events from the past are impacting you today- holding you back and creating stress in the difference between your goals and vision for yourself and what you can create or accomplish right now.

You deserve the love you so freely give to others. – Alexandra Elle. For many of us, it is so easy to give, encourage and lift up the people we care about, and to pour into others without a second thought. These same folks often find it is a challenge to look after their own needs. They feel tired, compassion fatigued, or ready to give up. We get stuck in our thought patterns and routines and never stop to ask ourselves, "When was the last time I took care of me?" If you're looking to bring restoration and balance back to your life, therapy may be the best way to start.

Many women struggle with anxious feelings, isolation, and stress. Too often, though, such feelings are pushed by the wayside. With kids to care for, a career to maintain, and a home to manage, women often find it hard to hold it all together. Similarly, young women in college face intense deadlines and the novelty of living on their own for the first time. Even with a network of trusted friends and family members in place, it can be difficult to keep your head above water. During especially turbulent and unpredictable times, it’s useful to have a professional to turn to for guidance in authentic, unbiased ways.

At Artocin Psyche’ we work with clients through a Mind-Body-Spirit perspective, where we assess each area as we move through therapy together with clients on their life journey. We are very attentive to our client’s issues so we are able to tailor the psychotherapy to each client’s issues. As we work with our clients through Mind-Body-Spirit, we believe the therapeutic relationship is vitally important to the therapy process. We utilize an eclectic blend of therapy models and techniques, including somatic psychotherapies, and upon request spiritual therapies as well. We also provide “Utility”, simply-homework. Offering LOW cost therapy sessions now! We’re given messages about ourselves constantly. We’re told we should look a certain way, feel a certain way, show emotions a certain way – the list is endless. As a result, we may find ourselves having a poor relationship with our bodies and emotions, seeing them as our enemies rather than our friends. Chronic pain, chronic illness, eating disorders, trauma, and anxiety can make us feel even more like our body is a battleground rather than a safe place to be.

How can I find a therapist in 28412?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
